I bought the US version of The Witcher, but after I realized I had a cut version, I downloaded an international release copy (Yeha yeah yeah, I've also bought the Witcher twice and am getting it a third time, so don't lecture me on piracy). It wasn't just the sex cards I noticed. I remember in the international version, in the first area, it was possible to slice the heads off of people as a finishing move. In fact, I remember the international version giving you a prompt on how to do it. The US version didn't have dismemberment and less blood.
After getting the Enhanced Edition, and patching it, I never noticed any dismemberment like I did with the international release version, nor was the prompt on finishing moves there. I know I'm not crazy, and I know it WAS in there. I'm not saying it's stopping me from getting it again, but I really oppose censorship on something intended for mature audiences, and is far tamer than other games.
