I just wanted to know about the usage of TAGES in The Witcher, I finally got around to dropping 10 bucks to see what this awesome looking game is all about, then I read about the DRM it uses and I saw TAGES and immediately cringed in agony. The last game I played that uses TAGES was Stalker: Clear Sky and I recalled how TAGES completely screwed my laptop for having Daemon Tools installed (BSOD's, lock-up's, etc.).
Has TAGES been removed since this games release or is it still there? Someone properly inform me.

Wasn't copy protection removed with release of Enhanced Edition?
edit: Yep, it sure does!

Tages is still present.
Well crap, I should have spent the extra 10 dollars and went with EE.
Can I still register this copy, get the EE patch and install it without TAGES coming up?
I have old version of Witcher with EE additionaly installed too... But I didn't launch the game without EE.
I could check if I have TAGES installed after the proces, if someone tells me how :D
Ok, I have Daemon tools installed and the original release of the game worked fine for me. Also after I updated it to the EE via the online patch download from the official site, the disc is no longer required in the drive.
Actually, the DRM which comes with the Enhanced Edition of the Witcher is a bit of an iffy matter.
IF, you buy it off retail, it will come with TAGES.
HOWEVER, the game is also distributed over Stardock's Impulse where it does /not/ come with any DRM.
Edit: Well, that's based what I recall. Please correct me if I was wrong.
