StingingVelvet: I'm going to throw them $5 for this as appreciation but honestly I am not sure where the excitement comes from. I mean if there are people who have avoided The Witcher for all these years despite it being readily available and DRM free then have at it I guess, go nuts, but your procrastination is truly astounding.
Lone3wolf: Maybe because pretty much almost all the money received for it here will be going to CDP, rather than any other digital distributor*? Supporting the devs directly!
*[I wouldn't be surprised that Atari got a cut, though - but you know what I mean....?]
Edit : I'm fairly sure I want to buy it here, to support them, even though I already had it from Steam - I'm just in two minds whether to buy it while it's $5, or wait a few weeks and buy it for the full price.....maybe I should flip a coin, or something.
Yeah, all that's fine. Again I am not saying "why release it here" I am saying "why are so many people so excited about it?" We had like a hundred "when is The Witcher coming?" threads before. I don't get it.
GameRager: Maybe by stupidity they meant thinking it's surprising that enough people haven't played it yet to justify to Gog to host it for sale here.
I never said the latter part of that.
GameRager: Some people got excited about BG btw, because of it's DRM free status AND being able to get it running on newer OSs along with a single installer.
And that's fine... I will probably buy them for that ease of use reason eventually myself, should they ever go on sale. My point stands though, why get so excited about that? Why get so pumped and scream "oh my God the BG games!" and shit just to get a simpler install process? That just baffles me.
Anyway it's no big deal, I don't want to have an endless debate about it.
