It actually makes so little sense that retailers are offering discounts to justify preorders. Just stop adding to the preorder culture, games you want to buy on release just buy on release an we'll get rid of all the preorder bonuses nonsence. Digital preorders blatantly exist to force games upon customers with no other information than hype provided by publisher, there's absolutely no other reason for them to be.

That seems like a pretty accurate use of the word "ignorant" to me. The only way I can understand why someone would deliberately play an inferior version of a game is because they aren't aware of (ignorant of) the superior version.

Then again, they're ignorant for owning a console instead of a PC in the first place.

So what? They are developing a game for a platform, not spreading GOG's "DRM-free" mentality. Just like GOG represents a platform that ... doesn't really offer any features for developers (yey that's awesome... not!), so does Steam with Steamworks integration, Xbox One with Xbox Live, and PS4 with PS+ / PSN / whatever they call it.

Should they also not use Steamworks because it is "DRM" or whatever, or Xbox Live, or PSN/+ because they offer account features that can be used by developers?

EDIT: My point being, they should get the game on as many platforms as possible, and utilise those platforms' features fully, to offer the best possible experience on each particular platform.

And how would the console versions be crippled compared to the Windows (not sure if OSX / Linux versions are in dev) version? We don't know anything about the game...

Don't use the money excuse either, assembling your own PC has never been cheaper, and no matter what amount you spend. It will always give you more power for every dollar you spend, comparative to consoles.

In fact, assembling your own PC by buying the parts individually at bargain prices, and then buying PC games digitally on sales, will end up saving you money in the long-term over a console, plus giving you a better piece of hardware. And that's in addition to the obvious other uses of a PC beyond gaming.

Consoles have absolutely no advantages at all.
