Does anyone know what the "Other DRM" means at Gamersagte for The Witcher 1?

It is at a good price but I am a bit hesitant to buy it with some sort of DRM attached.

Here is the Gamersgate sale link.

Thanks

Fairly positive that the latest patch for the game removed all instances of DRM in it. There may be a GamersGate-specific DRM, however.
Send GamersGate an email.

They usually respond to things like this.

It may have some sort of one-off "phone home" check when installing or something.
there is a phoe home part for the big ass patch but after that the next patch removed DRM if you get the standard edition and not enhanced

you could wait for GoG to get it from Atari and release it here its a title they are working on on a regular bases to get on the site. See the most recent PCG podcast near the end as reference.
I bought this one, it has it's own downloader but you don't need it to install so you can copy the files during installation, so it's basically DRM-free.

Are you talking about saving the install file so there is no need to download again? If so, I know this, but is there any form of activation for the Witcher or does it install any form of DRM?

Thanks

No, the downloader is the only protection so once you have the files you have the game, DRM-free.
^ Why does it show that there are serial numbers on the My Games page? (I haven't yet generated any)
