Interesting, huh?
I get the impression that it'll be a complete slaughter of the mythos that many people hold dare but oh well... I'd watch/play/own them :)
Oh and anyone who still wants to play the old Legend Entertainment shooter online can find info at the old WoT.com clan forums

I wish we could go back to a time where games were based upon popular books. Now if anything like this is to happen, they use books that were popular years ago, or they use existing franchises or they just come up with something original (wtfbbq).
as much as I'd like to include such games as Harry Potter and LOTR, it seems both of those game series are actually based on the movies and not the books..
Making movies or games directly from the books is a horrible idea. The WoT mythos is so huge and farslung that any non-independent storylines/characters/events just won't fit into a movie or game series.
The WoT game that came out in 99 was good. It was a separate story happening in the WoT universe, with mostly separate characters and events. Good story, good game. Taking anything from the books themselves and trying to compress it into movies or games won't work.
Lord of the Rings almost made it, and that was just a third, or even a fifth of the size of WoT. The Dragon died, the industries rape his memory. Ah well, after the sheer horror that was the Hitchhiker's movie, I'm not sure how I didn't see this coming.
I never could get into Wheel of Time. I'm more excited about the A Song Of Ice & Fire TV series that is being developed by none other than HBO. I can't see how that can fail to be excellent.

I got tired of Wheel of Time after about book four or five...it seemed like every single book started following the exact same formula. I'm a Song of Ice and Fire fan, but I'm really getting annoyed with George RR Martin. Wasn't the last book supposedly half of one megabook, and we were supposed to be getting the other half, like a FREAKIN YEAR AGO?! Now it's not out for ANOTHER year. What's going on, if it was already written? George, buddy...do you want this to end up like Wheel of Time, where you die before it's done?!
It's taking much longer than I'd like too. I worry that Martin has spread himself too thin with too many projects at once, but his regular blog updates let us know that he's working hard on it. It should be out before the middle of next year.
i'd like to see this game on GoG too.
I'd love to pick up Legend's WOT game for six bucks... I played the heck out of the demo.
As for the "new games," am I the only person who smells another Daikatana here?
Rest in peace, Robert. Despite how they're bastardizing your children...
