The Fate Core Kickstarter Project is in its final days and contains an amazing amount of material, and all of it can be had in e-book form for just $10. There's no better value out there. Hopefully it will reach the $400k goal and include even more material.

Looks to me like a good time to offer my spare e-copy of Spirit of the Century and Spirit of the Season, which I got for one of Fred's previous Kickstarter projects (of similar incredible value), Dinocalypse Now.

All you really have to do to enter is say that you're in. If you want to say what PnP RPG's you've played, share stories or whatever, that would be welcome, and might increase your chances or might not. If you pledge to Fate Core and don't have these yet, let me know, and it will definitely increase your chances.

I'm not sure that GOG is the best place to post such a giveaway, but since I frequent this forum I figured I'd make the giveaway here. If you have some favourite PnP RPG forum you can advertise there and get people to sign up to GOG to join. :)

This giveaway will end in two days-ish from now.

Just pledged. Thanks for notifying me of the project.

Apart from Fate and it's relatives I've played quite some PnP RPGs. In approximate order of preference or frequency:

Hârnmaster
Call of Cthulhu
Shadowrun (mostly 3rd ed. but started with 2nd)
DSA (Realms of Arkania)
Ars Magica
Vampire the Masquerade (and related)
Earthdawn
D&D (and formerly AD&D)
Fading Suns
Firefly
Paranoia
Torg / Master Book
GURPS
Exalted
Traveller
In Nomine
7-th Sea
Lodland
Star Wars (d6)
MERS

... and surely I forgot some systems that I tried out on some con.
Well, that's a very tempting Kickstarter campaign, and I'd love to back it up... if I still had partners to play PnP RPGs... :(

I played a lot, but since I moved to Japan, I don't play anymore, never found enough fellow players...

I was quite eclectic in my RPGs. I played (as a Game Master)
AD&D (Scarred Lands version, mainly)
Call of Cthulhu
Guildes
Shadowrun
Cyberpunk (yay! CD Projekt Red!)
Nephilim
Polaris
Ecryme
In Nomine Satanis/Magna Veritas
Toon
Miles Christi

...and many others as a player.

Man, that was the good days...
I'm in!
I've been looking for a new RPG to try out; all I play right now is D&D.
+1 for the thought. Not in because I don't fancy such kind of RPG's. Hope whoever wins enjoy them :)
Not in, but thanks and +1 for your generosity, ET3D!

Also, a little promotion in the Giveaways' Directory:

I haven't played PnP RPG's, but I've witnessed several Warhammer 40k & BattleTech competitions, at least. ;)

First of all, just back it at $10 even if you don't play (I don't). Just reading all this material would be fun. It includes simplified roleplaying rules, games for kids, stuff that could help introduce new plays to RPGs. It even includes a novel.

Secondly, take a look at Roll20, another Kickstarter I backed (at a minimal level). It allows for a group of people to play over a web browser. If you still know people who play, but they're just in another country, that could help you play together.
Does Hero Quest count? :)

Not entering because of huge backlog, but +1 for the giveaway!
+1 for an awesome giveaway :D

Oh I did play for a while with my friends back in my home country, but the time difference is so big that it started to be a little difficult to find moments we were free at the same time (jobs, kids, family...). So quickly, it stopped.

But Roll20 looks really amazing! I'll try to reactivate my network of players to see if they would be interested! Thanks!
I'm in, thank you for this giveway and + 1
I'm in. I've mostly played pen&paper in a buddy of mine's own system. Currently it has elements of D&D, Warhammer, Ars Magica and then some.
I'm in!
Nice original giveaway.
I'm in. +1 and thanks for the giveaway.

I have only played D&D and d20 Modern. I enjoy PnP RPG's and am always looking for new things to try out.

As for a story, I have two. The first is the time that we had a new player come sit in our game. We gave him a character that hadn't been played for awhile and had some random stuff in his inventory. During the middle of battle I find myself trying desperately to fend off three goblins or some other similar creature (it's been while). I call over to him to help me out. He starts perusing his inventory and responds, "It appears that I have some nuts. Would you like them?" The sad part was that he was totally serious. That guy was an idiot.

The second story taught me to be careful who you play with. I was DM for the game and through a very convoluted series of events, one of the players' characters died via an nasty trap in a dungeon. He then tore up his character sheet and yelled at me to step outside. I don't think he was trying to shake my hand. Anyway, the game probably would have been better (had we finished) after his character's demise. His character was a female bugbear that he claimed was in heat. He was kind of an idiot, too.

It's not too difficult to encounter idiots. I was at a con game where we knew each other except for one guy, who was supposed to be a paladin but played that as "chaotic stupid" (as we termed it).
