This argument ( by the way, mainly relevant to the socialist vision of copyright ), is obsolete since 1973 ( just like the earlier argument of natural right of authors ). The current implementation of copyright laws is all about corporate wellfare
back to the topic, the point is valid but it's probably better like that. If the authors had to be compensated as well, we probably would have less games on Gog as this would trigger neverending disputes about who is the "heir" of defunct studios.
