Congratulations! :D

And now for the game idea. I've always wanted to make a game similar to the SNES -era JRPG's. E.G. Final Fantasy 6, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, etc. It would be an epic rpg, with lots of plot twists, memorable characters and bad guys (more sinister than Kefka?) and puzzles. It would happen in a cyberpunk/fantasy world, maybe a little similar to that which is found in Shadowrun rpg.

Maybe one day when I have the money to buy the software and the necessary time, I will make the game.

ErekoseDM: id do basically the same thing but based on Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn series, and include The Alloy of Law + any additional books that may transpire.

ellynandroid: Ever since I read that series I have needed a game with that freakin' magic system. Oh my god Sanderson is good at magic systems.
it was totally awesome how each branch of magic could be adapted. even limited to just one branch could be an awesome RPG.
and juggling the metals could lend itself to an RPG mechanic well.
and even all the races involved. ^_^
playing as a Kandra.
even playing the game as a ferrochemist could be amazing.

just after reading the books fighting against one of the Steel Inquisitors would be a great scene/battle in a game.
or playing the whole game as a Steel Inquisitor. ^_^
My dream game would be set in the Mass Effect universe, but would play like one of the PS2 Grand Theft Auto games. You could explore, fly vehicles, take side missions, etc.

ellynandroid: Thanks guys! :D

Aningan: Congrats on getting accepted! What are you going to study?

ellynandroid: I'm going to do psychology. :) At the moment I have this huge passion for becoming a research psychologist, but we'll see!
Congratulations Ellyn!!! My oldest daughter did her bachelor's in psychology and then continued on to do her master's in social work. She is counseling children and adults now. I'm very proud of her. She did so well and had excellent grades in school. Your enthusiasm is wonderful and I think you are bound to do very well too because of it and your obvious capability or they would not have accepted you at the university.

I would like being on the design end of a game like Elder Scrolls but with a deep, amazing, memorable story driving everything else that happens in the game. It would still need to be open world, huge, with lots of exploring besides the quests that would progress the story. And I would like to make the quests as meaningful as possible within the context of the story and the subquests should also tell little stories of their own, also of excellent quality. Basically, I'd like to take what is great about an Elder Scrolls game and take it to the next level. Oh, and I would require adequate resources be invested in thoroughly testing and fixing issues discovered BEFORE release, not after. Gamers should never be paying beta testers.

Thanks very much for the celebratory giveaway! :D

Heh heh, don't get too choked up, you're probably gonna love it there. :)

I wish you the same for pre, mid and post graduation.
Congrats! I miss university life already. Make the most out of it!

As for one of my dream games: a proper mecha open-world RPG that has equal focus on both the pilot and the mechs. Like in Evangelion, the pilot's skills and the mech's abilities must be in sync; mech parts are modular and can be upgraded and replaced. It'd be interesting to see it combined with magic as well.
Congrats

I would redo Chronotrigger (yes the original snes one) on a modern system, in 3D and using a modern battle system
Congratulations
Congratulations! How exciting!

My dream game would feature a charming young lady from Australia who embarks in a dangerous quest to gift a game to a Spanish gentleman, hurt by a dark dragon, The Mysterious T. Unfortunately, she has to face the mortal danger of those creatures called GOGers, fat, small, and fluffy, but who would do anything to stop her, like, for example, shyly reach for her tits or spill coffee over her laptop. It would be a platformer. Very classy.

GREAT!

As for the game:Start with the feeling of System Shock2, add some BioShock gameplay, borrow some monsters from Dead Space, sneak in some stealth from the Thief series, and have a Deus Ex story.
Congratulations elly on getting into the university :)
Now, if I had the time I would make a psychological zombie survival game. Imagine the impact System Shock 2 had on you or if you prefer a game like Amnesia or Penumbra and a game that you focus so much on survival such as Resident Evil 1 and 2. Now mix that with an open world to explore. I'm talking about a psychological horror game not a shooter ;). Congratulations again and thanks for the event!
Congratulations on being accepted! Hope you enjoy your studies!

My dream game would be an extensive RPG with multiple factions that lets you rise to power in any of them, each of which would have their own storyline. When you've risen to power in a faction the game would open up into a strategy game that lets you conquer other territories and factions and try to rule the world, but would still let you slip back into the RPG mode for more storyline, which would be affected by your actions in the strategy part of the game.

ellynandroid: SO YES. To enter, pitch me the idea for that dream game you'd love to make if you had the time, skills and patience. GO!
Hmmm... I'd make Sacrifice 2 :D I figure I'd keep most of the gameplay elements, as well as use the same graphics, and just work hard to further the storyline.
Fresh out of school or mature age? Either way, super effort!

My game? Ultima X. That is all.
