Well, in that case, you could make up a fictitious resolution or review those from previous participants and choose one with whom you can feel identified and edit your initial entry with the very same. ;)

My resolution story: I joined GOG in 2009 to pick up a free game after a friend shared a link with me. I believe it was the Tex Murphy freebies. I didn't really look at the entire GOG site at the time however or what GOG was all about, I just landed here to score the freebie game and signed up for the newsletter which ended up getting filtered into a bulk mail folder that I didn't check often so I didn't really find out about what GOG was really all about for some time later.

In 2011 I reorganized my email and ended up seeing the GOG promotion emails and eventually saw a few more freebie promotions and picked them up and looked at the site more closely. It was at this point that I started to realize just how cool GOG was. I despise DRM schemes as they have prevented me from being able to play the legitimate games I've bought in the past many times. Games such as Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 1 and 2 for example, where Ubisoft's servers claim that my CD key is invalid (presumably pirates have cracked their key algorithm and generated my key completely at random since there is no way my key could ever have gotten leaked anywhere). So, over time I've gotten disheartened by copy protection schemes of many companies like Ubisoft and EA Games to name a few and I decided that I would never buy or play their games again. I never bought any big games since 2006 and have basically just relegated myself to playing older titles I already owned and freebie and open source games from online. I picked up a few bargain-bin specials over time from department stores, but no big name $$$ titles.

Anyhow, in 2011 I decided I would no longer buy games that contained copy protection due to the inconveniences the paying customer is punished by while people pirating the games have no problems getting past the protection and playing the games anyway problem free for the most part. It was at this time when I started to really follow GOG more closely over time and over the holiday season at the end of 2011 I declared that I would buy games from GOG.com sometime throughout the year and support GOG for bringing awesome DRM free games to the masses at fantastic prices.

Due to other life distractions I didn't really game much this year until the last 4 months or so, but GOG had a few more game freebies and some really fantastic promotions and having told a bunch of people about GOG I decided back in Oct or so that I would soon be supporting GOG. One of the awesome sale deals came on and I picked up 7 titles, then a week later another 5 on the 5 for $10 deal, and another 5 the next day. Ever since then I've been buying some of the promotions that have met my eye whenever I could, and I've won a few freebies in giveaways on the forums here as well and had some gifts over the holiday season also.

Altogether including all bought games, freebies, gifts and giveaways I now own 133 GOG games, and bought 20 more games for a good friend of mine during the holiday promotions to get him started on GOG also!

I suppose one could say it was a long time coming, but I am a complete convert to GOG's brand and ideology of gaming, and I think I'm addicted now. LOL

Sorry for the long winded post, but I felt like sharing my GOG story. ;o)
