Not in but +1
Not in, but +1 for making GOG special!
Not in, as I'm not qualified (I don't play online multiplayer games), but thanks and +1 for your generosity, Aaron86!

Also, a little promotion in the giveaways' listing thread:

I don't usually do multiplayer, however, last year I was playing a game of Call of Duty World at War and there was me and one other guy playing on a map against each other, we kept stopping and chatting. Turns out he was from Israel, one of the nicest people I have ever spoke to, we chatted about life in general and gaming. Played for a good few hours and when others popped in on the map we both ended up on the same team and were working together with knowing the map from hours of previous play.

It was really fun and we were covering each others backs when moving through the buildings, absolutely awesome time.

Next to that it was playing Borderlands 2 co op with a friend from another forum, he was stuck on the giant robot after you stop a train. With me being high level and having finished the game on normal between us we obliterated the boss so he could carry on.
A memory from Tiberian Sun. I was playing against two friends just for teaching some of the game tactics. We were playing on dial-up (ancient multiplayer method). I told them to let me know when they are ready for my attack. They prepared themselves for more than an hour. When they asked me to attack, I notified them I was gonna build an obelisk in the middle of their base. And that was what has happened. :) It was funny to see their faces the next day
There were two competitive multiplayer games that I really enjoyed:

1) Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast - that was while ago, almost 10 years I'd say... I loved saber dueling, and actually got pretty good at it; I remember one of the more popular maps had a "pad", a circular platform that was usually used for duels, and one night I was on such a streak, I got the nickname "Defender of the Pad" for enduring such a long time without losing;
eventually I joined one of the local clans and I remember participating in some unofficial national tournament or something, and I really blew it, lost practically everything; that kinda burned me I guess.

2) Counter Strike Source - I don't care much for the regular game, but there's one mod that is really loads of fun - soccer. Playing 'FIFA' from first person is a hoot, I remember one time shooting a 'volley' after a perfect pass from one of my mates, it's darn satisfying.

Cheers for the nostalgia inducing giveaway!

Definitely Warcraft 3, the first game I purchased with my own money, same thing goes for the frozen throne expansion

I spent so many days and nights with that game and I absolutely loved the multiplayer in it

I played so much I actually went to various tournaments in my city and won many battles against people who were older than me 5-10 years, I played Undead and nothing felt better crushing cocky assholes who thought that cookie cutter tactics with Archmage+Riflemen would win them everything, only to have their entire army destoryed by a swarm of ghouls with a Dreadlord. Being 13 years old and winning those at 1 AM really does put you on the top of the world

I also really loved the custom map scene which was extremely creative and fun, this was before the plague and horror known as DOTA devoured and killed everything

Anyway, thanks a lot for the giveaway and I wish the best of luck to everyone.
Thanks for the giveaway, Aaron86. It's a great idea, but it's such a terrible shame that LANs are disqualified :(
Thanks for the giveaway.

Everquest (vanilla)......my first foray into online gaming.

Made my character and logged into a living breathing world. I was completely clueless. Didn't have a clue where to go etc. I asked for some assistance and a high level (to me) player gave me a tour.

It was a fantastic community in the old days.
Well, I'm not really into online multiplayer games, but I'm into Zelda-like games... ;p

My last adventure on the realms of multiplayer, I think, it was with Terraria with a couple of close cousins... Good hours digging into hell and forging stuff... then getting bored and trying kill each other with traps or explosives (only to find ourself killed, and laughing to tears, 'cause we are set for the same team...)...
I think before that, my last experience was in the early days of Conter-Strike....
My most memorable multiplayer experience happens to be from WoW.

I no longer play it, but back in the early days of vanilla WoW, a RL friend of mine and I were leveling in Thousand Needles around the race track. Both of us were undead rogues and there happened to be a couple of alliance players doing the same thing.

Being the stealthy bastards we were, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to gank these poor souls. We fought these two for what must have been about an hour, and it was great fun! Afterwards, they called in some more alliance players, and we called in some more horde. It ended up being a knock down, drag out, open PvP battle that lasted for another couple of hours it seems. It was very memorable for me and had a blast!!
Thanks for the entries guys. The winner will now be announced shortly.
