I think skunks are really cool, I could give many reasons why I feel that way, but what matters is that I do. I also would like some new wallpaper for my laptop. "What does this have to do with a giveaway?" you ask, well the answer is simple. I want you to draw a (wallpaper sized) picture of a skunk, or write an essay (fifty word minimum) detailing why skunks are awesome. In exchange for that, I offer you the chance to win a free game! Not only that, but the first three entries earn a free game!

These are the rules
You must be the original author of the artwork/essay
Rep/Join date doesn't matter
The official off-topic topic for this thread is skunks (other off-topic topics are allowed)

If you win you may choose a game from the list of games available on my list of games available in the Classifieds thread. You may find that list here

Winners:
Dachenko11
trentonlf

The piebald beast Mephitidae
- the fancy word for skunk -
has no friend with which to play
thanks to its fetid spraying gunk.
This smallish beast (up to three feet)
when threatened holds its ground
and drives away the larger foe;
whether bear, fox, cat or hound.
Yes, when feral creatures start a fight
they growl and raise their head;
but this creature, oft the hue of night?
Why, it rears its rear instead!
So 'ware this little polecat,
which nothing preys upon
(except the owl, and only that
from dusk until the dawn)
Leave it be, this weasel-kin,
and keep it from your yard.
It's not a pet; don't let it in,
'cause cleaning up that smell's too hard.

EDIT: this isn't a desktop wallpaper or an essay, so it's not really an entry either, but, hey - if you can't post crappy poetry anonymously on the internet, where *can* you post crappy poetry anonymously? ^_^

Dead Skunk In the Middle of the Road. Not in. Thanks for your generosity.
Not in, but I just discovered THE ADVENTURE OF JIMMY SKUNK on Gutenberg:
http://www.gutenberg.org/files/21015/21015-h/21015-h.htm
Not in & +1! :D
Just a quick thread bump here...
Alright, I am in! Here we go:

The skunk is a truly awesome and magnificent beast, for several reasons, but one is truly remarkable: The skunk is a animal of peace, deterring aggressors with nothing but anal scent glands. The skunk is also a animal of pacifism for the reason that it rarely, if ever, kills it's food. Skunks in modern times often search in garbage for edible materials, rather than killing prey. If not eating literal garbage, the skunk will be scavenging for already dead animals, or plant life. If not living close to settled areas, the skunk will kill wildlife, however, never at any point has a skunk ever brought a species to anything resembling extinction, consciously preserving, even while playing the role of the predator. In conclusion, skunks are animals of peace, and will only attack lethally if needed to preserve itself, or if it is suffering from rabies.

That is my 145 word essay on the subject of skunks. I would have elongated it, however, I feel that writing about the true behavioral patterns of skunks outside of diet would be out of place on an internet forum.
Have you ever wondered what to do to help with pesky neighbors or annoying stray animals getting in your yard? Well we are here to present you with an AWESOME solution, the port-a-skunk!! That's right, a portable skunk to spray your yard (or neighbors) on demand. Your new awesome port-a-skunk comes in a convenient carry cage with an eco friendly prodding stick to help get the little guy in the mood to spray. Just think, no one will ever bother you again and your yard will be pest free!! So come on down to skunks r us and get yours today.

;)
I'll bump the thread for ya :-)
I'll just give this a little bumpy-bump. :)
Skunks are adorable, and oh-so-charming; they just get a bad rap because of their defense mechanism (stinky stuff, ya know.)

Oh, not in, but thanks for the giveaway~!
So far Dachenko11 and trentonlf have gotten games for their skunk related posts but as I promised to give a game to the first three persons who posted a picture/essay, there is still one more chance to get a free game! Just be the next person to post a (wallpaper sized) drawing of a skunk, or a essay (or poem) about skunks!
That's for you, enjoy!

The three guaranteed games have been given away, however the giveaway is still open. Just post here if you're in. I'll close the giveaway and choose a winner sometime on Friday.
Not in, but I agree. Skunks are pretty awesome.

I imagine one day we'll have a skunk that can combine its stink juices into a highly exothermic reaction and that we'll have our first Buttdragon. One day! We can hope!
