The first is a rip-off of Harry Potter, or the other way around (Magical creatures, magic, strange places in our world that we apparantly cannot see despite them being massive and huge, and a main character called Harry Potter), so no :p

Wow I actually kind of want to see it now. Won't be as good as the second, but probably wouldn't hurt to check out. I also noticed from its Wikipedia page that it's getting remade in 2012.... wat?
