gameon: On 360 prey got a metacritic score of 79: http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-360/prey

And on gamespot they gave both versions 7.5: http://uk.gamespot.com/prey/

I thought that with the pedigree of 3d realms that it would get a high score. 7/10 isn't bad, but its not a high score. I found the game fun, and worthy of purchase despite the "lesser" scores.
A lot of games get bad ports on one system or another. In Prey's case it wasn't the PC that lucked out that time (much like with Risen). So I don't think that counts for anything, unless it's the 360 version you're talking about specifically. Even then it's not a bad score.

iainmet: +1 for Alpha Protocol, bought it in a Steam sale for next to nothing and absolutely love it. Stealth is a little funny to get used to but works, standard gun combat with cover mechanic works well. Its a great action packed game.

FarCry 2 got above average reviews but the gripe is with the fast respawning enemies. Still an action packed shooter with great locations and views.

Rogue Trooper and Jusdge Dredd (Dredd Vs Death), great games coming from Rebellion and the 2000AD comics, been reading them for years and love Dredd to this day. REALLY hope they are actually right behind the new Dredd movie with Karl Urban, apparently this time around you will not see Dredds face and bit of luck they will keep things right within the universe.

Clive Barkers Jericho, very console orientated shooter but the locations and time shifts are really good. Not as good as Undying but still a decent shooter.
I have to disagree on Jericho and Judge Dredd. Judge Dredd was terrible, and trust me, im really forgiving when it comes to FPS. I did enjoy it because im easily pleased by FPS, but i have to admit it had way too many flaws to even be considered good.
About Jericho, it was just way too repetitive. It got boring quickly, as i got tired of killing the same enemies over and over again, then move into the next room to face the same enemies, repeat, get a random QTE, more enemies. I did finish both Jericho and Judge Dredd, by the way.
I totally agree with you on Rogue Trooper. It was a great game with interesting new ideas. Too bad it didnt sell well and well probably never ever see a sequel.

Nroug7: So here i was, sitting at home, with my games i had just bought at a budget price.and i had inserted alpha protocol to play first. Now knowing that this game came of the review board with poor scores, i wasn't expecting too much. But this game has absolutely blown me away so far, Sure it was criticized heavily, but for a new IP it did good.

So what are some games that did poorly on the review board that you thought were actually good?
That was my story exactly with Alpha Protocol. I read the reviews, read countless forum topics about how much it sucked. Bought it for myself and absolutely loved the game. Ive played through it 4 or 5 times now. Sure it had its problems but it is exactly what ive always wanted, a modern stealth rpg with spies and guns and shit.

l0rdtr3k: I have to agree Jade Empíre was awesome.I still don't know why people consider it the worst of Bioware. The setting was unique for an RPG,the graphics are still beautifull and the combat and loot are great

Bodkin: Jade Empires - "worst Bioware game"

l0rdtr3k:
Jade Empire isn't their worst game (I think that goes to NWN original campain. played it for a bit and fount that to be so boring. it is obvious Bioware didn't care at all about the single player in the game) but it is the most dumbed down and streamed line RPG wise. Which can be seen as a positiive as well at times. I mean, the leveling up and equipment was even more simple than Mass Effect 2 or Dragon Age 2 but I think Jade Empire was still a beter game than either of those two
