GoG offers some great freebies, but I'd like to see newer (free) games from Indie devs (such as "Treasure Adventure Game," on GoG). WIth that in mind, I recently started going on a bit of a Freebie hunt, and found some real gems (there are tons of legitimate, free games out there, but not all of them are worth playing, imo). Please feel free to add your own favorites, as long as they are LEGAL (no "abandonware;" these must come from the devs). Here are some geat freebies (in no particular order):

1. Totally Tiny Arcade - I *love* this game! But then, I grew up in the arcades when these games (well, actually the games they are parodying) were available. The time limit adds to the frenetic fun, as you race around an arcade, playing 80's style machines in an effort to eradicate a virus. Great stuff. http://totallytinyarcade.com/

2. Nitronic Rush - Developed by students at DigiPen, this "survival driving game" features everything you'd expect in a 90's-styled racer: pretty impressive (if slightly busy) neon graphics, a thumping (bass heavy) soundtrack, stunts, abilities (such as boost and wings) achievements, and both story and arcade modes. Oh, and it has support for the XBox 360 pad! http://nitronic-rush.com/

3. Dungelot - There's no way I can describe this game any better than the dev, so here it is: "Dungelot is a fun casual roguelike that plays almost like a strategic Advent Calendar. Flip over tiles to reveal amazing treasures or deadly monsters in your search for the key to exit the level. While your eventual demise is all but guaranteed, you can use your loot from previous runs to build up your characters and ensure each run can be at least a little deeper." I'd like to add that it plays (to me) like a combo of a roguelike and HeroQuest. A very simple, addicitve little time-killer (and he's still adding features!). 4. Mad Father - This is a fully translated (and well, I might add) Japanese horror game in the same style as later SNES games. Genuinely creepy, and STORY-DRIVEN. Let me say that again: This game is STORY DRIVEN. Meaning, if you don't want to read all the cut scenes, this is not for you. The story adds to the tension though, and in spite of the 16-bit graphics, I jumped more than oince. http://www.vgperson.com/games/madfather.htm'

One immediately comes to mind: Mega Man Unlimited, which I found out about just yesterday. Quality-wise, I'd say it's almost on par with the classic Capcom NES Mega Man games, but beware: it's hard as balls. Highly recommended though.
