chautemoc: That's really not very nice. I'm sure CDP weren't celebrating, why should you?
It would've been good for them, and then good for everyone in the end, if you must be selfish about it..

Urb4nZ0mb13: Would have just led to the PC version being dumbed down, always happens when consoles are involved.

You lack faith in CDP. :P
Quoting their co-founder Michael Kicinski:
"After going public with TW:RotWW there was an uproar of discontet, people saying that the console version will be better and that PC gamers were merely beta-testers ;). I think that stems from a misunderstanding. First of all TW:RotWW is a slightly different game, more console-ish and while the combat system really is more dynamic, compared to the PC version (especially played from the isometric perspective) it allows for less tactical control and demands more player skill and dexterity which doesn't have to suit everybody (especially PC RPG fans). The fact that we're trying to improve other aspects of the game shouldn't suprise anybody since between the release of the PC and the console version will be a timespan of two years. It would be idiotic to release the game visually unchanged. We always try to use the potential of every platform and all our games to the fullest. This was the case with The Witcher in 2007 and the Enhanced Edition in 2008 and that's exactly how it's going to be with the console version in 2009. That's absolutely normal. We don't try to satisfy one specific group of gamers but always try to offer the maximum of what is possible to whoever a specific game is targeted at."
You guys are forgetting two major things:
What kind of nasty DRM is going to put on it, and how badly optimized will it be since it's a console port?

Yeah I'm worried about the DRM -- what's LA's history with it? Edit: disc-based SecuROM with KOTOR games I think. Pretty sure I've heard some rough stories about problems with those games..
Console thing has been discussed. :)
We'll see..but I reckon it'll be a good job if it's coming this late and with so much extra content.

Arkose: No company besides Blizzard really cares about gaming on OS X, least of all Aspyr. From what I've read over the years, Aspyr has a poor track record of releasing lousy ports for OS X. I don't expect the Windows version to be all that well optimised either, but from the way things sound their OS X versions usually end up even worse off.

Hmm, during all those years, before I get the possibility to install Windows on a Mac, I've been very happy with Aspyr's work. Ok, the ports were not excellent, but at least, I've been able to play games like Jedi Outcast, Tomb Raider, Battlefront, KOTOR, etc...
When Macs became intel-based, THIS is the moment when they have really failed. Quick ports using, at that time, a very bad Cider conversion. And another point, the worse of all in my opinion, the lack of Universal (PowerPC & Intel) patchs for many games they've ported, resulting with games running really really bad. Mac games like Battlefront is a nightmare now on my iMac, it's running far better on my old PowerMac G4...
And now I play games on Windows.

force unleashed was one of the most disappointing games of all time... to me anyways. That and Two Worlds, but then again, I hadn't heard of Two Worlds until a week before it came out...

You must have gotten very excited during that week.
Yes, and I heard it was going to be like Oblivion, just with 4 player co-operative. I actually just recently picked it up for 10$ and didn't find it to be as bad as I remember. Kinda fun actually without the bugs. But thats beside the point... that Force Unleashed was a mindless hack & slash on rails in comparison to Outcast or Academy. I remember Outcast being the funnest out of all of them. Just JK 1 was fantastic... man do those games bring back great memories...
EDIT: Lol that must sound strange seeing how it was 2002 and 2000 when they were released and all you guys are reminiscing on games from 1990 and 1989 :P

Hey, good memories are good memories no matter how long ago they happened.
Er... I mean... get off my lawn!
