KneeTheCap: But they're just skins? I know, it's not my place to complain, but I'll never understand that..

doccarnby: Aren't they actual full fledged characters?

I have to say, oddly, the only thing that bothers me about this, isn't that they chose Freddy, nor that he's the remake Freddy instead of Englund (I have yet to see the remake, embarrassingly), but I was under the impression that even in the remake he still only has one claw glove. Why does he have two here?
In one of the older films he actually had many different gloves he used as a child preadator. I dunno if he wore them at the same time perse, but it's canon.

KneeTheCap: Wait..they are selling characters as a dlc? And they actually ask money for it?

karacho: thats how gaming works today, go buy a game, you will be lucky if you dont have to pay 30 $ for stuff that would have been included as unlockable content years ago
Unlockable content, or it was even given out for free with the patches, which I always thought was the coolest thing ever that they would sometimes add new things in with patches.

No they are fully developed characters with their own costumes and movesets. Unlockable characters in the past were just pallet swaps but these are whole independent characters that were developed after the game's release. People seem to expect these for free but my question is: Where do they get the money to PAY for Freddy without charging?

Oh, okay then. I thought those are just skins..

It's been a while since I've played any fighters, so I don't have really experience with these DLC characters. If they are unique and such, then I understand the fee for those.

Thanks for clearing that up :)
yea and mortal kombat has amazing charaters everyone has completely different moves every normal attack looks different and does different things as well as have different damag and speed and such for each character as well its actually a really amazing fighter :)

yeah, today its like that, instead of unlocking things you get a trophy or gamerscore, so that you can give more money to the publisher

gaming went pretty much downhill for me, mostly because of small things, but the sum of those small things is unbelievable, copy protection that is only copy protection by name and is only there to destroy the second hand market, online passes, dlc that should have been in the game, streamlining of basically every genre so that rpgs for example now are action games with a few numbers thrown in

dont get me wrong, gaming is together with movies one of my two big hobbies, but its a shame that so much is going wrong and gets perverted into a bad idea, trophys and dlc arent a bad idea per se, but because of trophys i cant take my savegame where i unlocked stuff to my friends when we play street figher for example, and DLC is pretty much obvious something that is in theory a nice idea, but gets abused like there is no tomorrow

Probably Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare. God that was a shitty movie. And anyway, he still didn't use two at once.

Yeah That's why old games are so awesome they have so much more replayability. And I'm not just saying that for nostalgia sake. I have a friend who considers himself a big hardcore gamer (from the new generation that's big now), and he has literally said his to me before about games in general that was shared by other gamers like him: "I already beat the game once, why would I ever play it again?" I think I may have died a little inside at that point. I'm not sure if it's just indicative of how games are made now or the generation or both, but it saddens me.
Fuck paying $5 for ONE character.

That is all.
