100 % of gamers believe the cake is a lie.

Guns, don't forget guns. Of course, I probably shouldn't make fun of Americans because I am one, but I'm from the northeast and we're all cynical hipsters up here. ;)
I want to move to Poland so I can work for GOG and make F@%*$G TOMB RAIDER WORK!

That doesn't qualify because I think it is actually true. :P
I like Switzerland and New Zealand, so most likely those two. Canada is pretty great too.

Guns is a tricky one. We all know that all americans have at least two guns and love to shoot them but! They aren't known to carry them around everywhere.

Oh and we're not making fun of americans. We're making fun of citizens in other countries and their concept of how americans are.

True. What we usually do is rig up our yards with bear traps, explosives, pullies etc so no one bothers us. Place looks like a warfront around football season.

Probably one of the Scandinavian countries. Social stability, interesting local culture and last but not least climate.

Although I like where I live. Yeah, it's not perfect (actually it is not even remotely good with all the corruption, unemployment and 200 Euros per month standard) but still it's fun.

200 euro's. WTF?

Does that mean groceries are pretty cheap? I mean, it must be adjusted to the loans.

EDIT : Wtf 'loans', I ment salary...

I would totally go for Canada or any of the Scandinavian countries too. Liberal. High development indexes. Low corruption indexes. And judging by what TV and the Internets show me they are quite beautiful (if a tad cold). Of course I have never been to any of those, so I can't really know if would like like it there.

No.

orcishgamer: "You" may not do it personally, but nationally, yes, there are prevailing attitudes, personalities, and perceptions. These "shift" over time as different generations come to "power" (i.e. being to host media broadcasts, own businesses, and hold office) but at any given time there is most certainly a prevailing attitude in any region.

Of course, everybody is slightly bigoted and racist. Doesn't mean you can't be a good person.
It's like how being heroic isn't so much about not being afraid, but being afraid and still doing something.

Psyringe: There _are_ some cultural differences between the two countries, but the differences between regions _within_ the same country is far stronger.
Tell me about it. I'm Bavarian (like my username already says) and you might be aware of the fact that Bavarians like to isolate and emancipate themselves from the rest of the country, often consider themselvs not even as Germans - and also the other way round, of course. Just quote a CSU politican in a German gaming forum, lean back and enjoy the shitstorm about all Bavarians being hillbillys and cavemen.
thinking that there is no such community in a whole country of 80 million people, and thinking that all those 80 million people, with all their various personalities, backgrounds, goals, ideas, and passions, are "stubborn and withdrawn", is ... absolutely clueless. Sorry.
Do you really think I meant that literally every German is like this? If I would generalize in such a ridiculous way, I must be stubborn and withdrawn too. Because you know, I'm one of those 80 millions. So are my friends and family. I was simply pointing out some negative characteristics I find very common in German society.

In my opinion there definitely are some minor and major differences in attitudes between regions, countries and even continents. And that's not necessarily a bad thing, because it provides identity and identification. I explicitly demand every single human being to develop his or her individual personality as far as ethical and legal boundaries permit it, but absolutely no common ground would be a flaw too.

Psyringe: Actually, what I was saying is that such stereotypes (as present in the line that I quoted) don't make sense if used for important decisions like where to live.
You overinterpreted this particular part of my explanation. This was just an example, just one of many reasons I made this decision. And by far not the most important one. Of course the new job and the personal challange were the main reasons. But it wouldn't have served the topic in any way if I had exposed my overall motivation to go this step. After all this thread isn't about me and my future plans, it's about what other countries people like and why.

I hope this clears out the misunderstandings.

It's a well known fact that you need a written invitation with the exact time of passage to enter an americans property. Otherwise you risk gun shot wounds and hysterical people coming from everywhere shouting "Intruder! Kill it!".
