Activision Blizzard? While I wouldn't call it a perfect union personally, it does kind of fit the clue.

Ooh! Ooh! It's got to be Eidos and Square Enix!

RolodeX: Whoa! New clue!
How about another clue for lunch? They are two different characters, but they complement each other beautifully.
Two different characters could be 'E' and 'A'...

Or... Black and White?

But Eidos was completely consumed by Squee. Activision and Blizzard are merely joined at the hip. Don't forget we already know Troika is involved and we know who holds most of their games - ActiBlizz.

Do you really, honestly think ActiBlizz will have the heart to sell their prized games here for $5.99 and $9.99, DRM-free? That's like asking Donald Trump to sell his hair.
Well, I believe 'E' and 'A' makes sense since they are talking about characters, not words.
But the good thing about this new hint is that it rules out a few of the previous assumptions made by everyone (or adds up yet another publisher/game to the thing). I do not see any resemblance of Deus Ex or Troika on this hint...

EA?

Wonder if anyone here knows someone in EA, Eidos, or whatever (perhaps somewhere like PR -- OK, not PR, they always lie, sorry Tom if you're reading this -- or in the business dealings department place) and see if they know of anything related to them and GOG.
I don't know why, but I keep thinking about Sam & Max... :P

It works even with words: Electronic and Arts, two characters that complement each other beautifully...

To my knowledge, Activision have actually avoided any ludicrous DRM. Kotick may be a cunt, but he's a cunt who likes money. He knows he's not going to make any money off of old titles unless he sells them in the right place under the right conditions. Still, I don't foresee many $5.99 games, no. Especially not from Blizzard.
Anyway, unless someone's bought the IPs, they own Troika's games save for TempleOEE. We know we're looking at Troika, so we must be looking at Actiblizz.

sajber: Sam & Max

Well, hell guys! Maybe they're bringing EA, Actiblizz and Lucasarts here in one go? Doesn't sound too likely though, does it?

Actually...hm, a complimentary pair travelling through time and space with karmic awareness certainly sounds like the description of Sam and Max: Season 3, which is due sometime this year.
It probably isn't that, but yeah.
