esad19: I really miss this game and it is a b**ch to get working 100% on xp. I would pay $20 easy for this one so who else wants this game bad.
Man, i had almost forgotten about that game. id love to play that again, its been so long.

Dano: carmageddon 2 still has the best vehicle damage model even today
you could bend the chassis and end up driving round in circles and if you did it just right, and hit something that was thin and strong like a concrete post head on at full speed you could actually rip your car in half

Apart from being ripped in two, i'd say Burnout Paradise has some extremely nice damage models and animations, all from bending crushing and to scratches and falling apart... But of course they prevented you from actually continuing to drive in that state...
Carmageddon 2 of course had a bit more hilarity in mind there... Where they allow you to actually continue drive in a 'normally' undrivable state... I recall few times when i didn't get wasted for being ripped in half... My eyes nearly popped out when that happened, haha...
I never got those 'glide wrapper' to work in Carmageddon 1 though... I sure would have loved playing with that...
I also never managed to get the expansion, which i heard should be quite aweosme too... (tell me, is that true..? i guess even more of teh same can be concidered 'awesome' as well)
Good old times, let them return please :D

It's embarassing that modern games generally tend to be lacking in the vehicle deformation department. I mean, you'd think that Crysis would have its trucks and HMMVWs deform on impact like Carmageddon, right?
Anyway, having the Carmageddon trilogy on GOG.com would be an instant purchase for me.
Too bad the planned sequels never get off the ground; I think the most recent one was being made by the developer that did Full Auto, but they closed down recently.
i'm using a glide wrapper with Carmageddon 2 right now under WinXP - works great. this reminds me... i need to download the demo for that game again, and disable the time limit. sooo much fun.

There's actually a sort of super cheat code for Carmageddon 2, that transforms pretty much all number keys and F# keys into shortcuts for various cheats...
Among them, i remember F8 being to freeze time...
I loved playing around with cheat codes in Carmageddon 2... -When messing around the 'normal' way simly isn't enough, haha
Oh man, Carmaggeddon... Yes! Yes please :D I never did figure out how you salvaged cars in Carmageddon 1, but I ended up with nearly all of them in the end. Any one remember the crazy-huge loop you had to drive through in the 2nd stage?? That was awesome :D So need this game!

Loop? What loop? Oh - You mean, if you were racing along with the others, you might have noticed some loops on your way. ;)

Forgive my ignorance, but what's wrong with TDR2000?
Carmageddon 1 was probably the most badass game ever made. I mean, there were bonuses for "Artistic Impression" when you drifted over someone's internal organs! There was blood and guts and oil drippings everywhere! Man and car, obliterated!
There's nothing like pixelated cows cominatcha at high speed! The "racing" part of the game was actually a joke, a reason to drift away from the track and waste the opponents, the pedestrians or the cows.
The car design was awesome, there was this guy driving a huge ass excavator with GOTCHA written on it. In blood. And there was this Mexican guy who had a Cadillac-like car, only it had thorns in front! Who remembers the crazy leather chick with electric shock weapons on the car?
Goddamn, this game is unbelievable!
I loved the Carmageddon games! They were truckloads of fun.
there's no chance for this game.

Weclock: there's no chance for this game.

Why do you say that?
I think 2k games has the rights? Or was that just for TDR?
SCI bought out Eidos (or the other way around, cant remember).
Eidos and 2k went the STEAM route. Maybe they will also use gog ?
Anyway, since I have a dedicated windows 98 machine just for carmageddon, HECK YES I want this from gog!
Then I could free up space around my desk.
:)

I say it to discourage threads like this.
Carmageddon here would be great.
