Got a tip from a friend about something that sounded too awesome to be true and today I tried it.
Innis & Gunn. A beer that taste like beer and whisky. Don't know if I like it yet but it's different alright. I think I'll have a couple more before I decide...

I love good beer and good whisky, but trying to combine the two just doesn't seem like something that would produce anything worthwhile, even under the best of circumstances. Beer should be beer and whisky should be whisky.

It's beer. It's aged in oak caskets. That's why it taste like whisky I guess. Anyway I'm kinda starting to get a taste for it.

Ah, I see. Come to think of it, I have heard of this before (at least the storing of beer in old whisky caskets to soak up some of the flavor). Still seems a bit odd to me, but I suppose if someone really knew what they were doing they could get some decent enough beer out of it (provided they're actually trying to make good beer, and not just doing it as a gimmick).

I would call it an Ale. By that I'm going with the taste. Sweet , "round" and thick/complex. And yeah. It definitely taste like whisky. The whisky taste is mostly in the smell and aftertaste.

I have a cousin whos been talking about making beer. HAvnt really planned anything concrete. But ill tell him about this maybe he will get more motivated.

My next-door neighbour's son actually runs the company. We keep getting loads of free bottles of the stuff.
