As our catalog gets bigger and better every week, it’s easy to lose track of some of the awesome games that we have to offer. We’ve been running one day “Gaming Gem” promos for a while now to highlight some classic titles that don’t get the love of some of our best-known blockbusters like Baldur’s Gate or Duke Nukem 3D. To celebrate summer, for the next two weeks until July 25th, we’re going to run a Gaming Gem promo every day, so you can rediscover these lesser-known classics! Grab that plastic toy shovel and dig out gem after gem over the next 18 days. We think every game we’re going to be offering on our Summer GOG.com Gem Extravaganza will be an excellent title, and we hope you give them all a try.

Good morning. My name is Dirk Smartly, and here’s your news for the day.

The fight between the United Civilised States and the Eurasian Dynasty continues to rage. NEO, our political overlord, advises us that our valiant robots in blue will shortly overcome the rampaging forces of the spineless Eurasian Dynasty. NEO also has instructed me to tell you that rumors that the huge atomic explosion that the treacherous ED purports to have set off on the North Pole has certainly not knocked the earth out of orbit, sending it spiralling into the sun in a path of fiery destruction and ruin which will end with all of us screaming in agony as the atmosphere overheats and boils our very flesh away.

In other—entirely unrelated!—news, our friends the Lunar Corporation are attempting to build a massive ship that can hold millions of people and animals and are intending to send it on an interplanetary journey to a destination that is not hurtling into the sun at unbelievable speeds. If, that is, there was a place that was doing that. Operators are standing by to take applicants for this daring and adventurous cruise across the vacuum of space, so call now!

Finally, we want you to know that the UCS is recruiting! For a trivial price of $2.39 you can enter your application, download our command and control packet from GOG.com, and take the fight to the enemy with our cleverly titled "Earth 2150 Trilogy” simulation software package. Revel in its stunning 3D glory! Gasp in astonishment at the graphics, the innovative in-game unit creator, and the flexible tactics you can use to defeat your foes! Be dazzled by the cunning and treachery of your opponents in either single- or muti-player battles! Help varied factions fight to preserve the very future of humanity itself!

The UCS only offers this new commander application program on sale for the next 24 hours, so be sure to pick up the gem from our local vendor GOG.com before this promotion runs out, and check in tomorrow to see what’s for sale on GOG.com!

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to see if the Lunar Corporation has any need for a dashingly handsome and talented newsreader like me.

Does it feel hot in here to you?
It certainly is a gem. But one that I already own.
My Wallet 2 - Gog Sales 0.

Not interested in any of the promos yet but will see what tomorrow brings.
Anyone noticed that opening post was posted 21 hours ago not today? :D

Sneaky. :>
Wishlisted, therefore bought. Back in the day the game was completely unbelievable for my mind, and sadly, PC. Time to run this baby in all it's glory. Thx GOG!
Not my idea of a hidden gem. It is a great game indeed but it was critically acclaimed and quite popular since it was released. Also: I already own the universe edition but I'll buy it a second time for that price (it's always nice to have access to your collection without having to carry hundreds of discs around).
Now we're talking!
I would buy it, but still dont have 2140 and I am not really keen on buying a sequel without owning the original....
Own it. Wallet break :)
I would have like to have bought this game, am actually interested, however I think such an offer should have come with the offer to get the other "Earth" games with the same discount - GOG may come come with a similar single offer on other "Earth" games tomorrow or another day (just to "teach us a lesson if we don't buy this one today) , but I dont care , I am not buying.
I have suggested to GOG that they should bring in the "Universe edition" , if they could , and though I want that one then I would still have bought the present GOG versions now if they had offered us the possibility to have all the "Earth" games (2140,2150,2160) with similar discount.
As is (this type of offer) then I am not buying.

P.S.
By the way , this forum has started to hide the outer most right letter in each line of a post (in post with more long lines and no "line break").
Am I the only one experiencing this ? (I am using I.E. 8)

On FF here everything seems to be ok.

When I saw this game a while back I'd not intended to get it as I have heaps of RTS games, but as this price I can't really say no.
This game was pretty famous in Poland, because it's... Polish game, so no hidden gem for me today ;-)
I can't recommend it, this game hasn't aged well at all. Resolution, Interface, AI - everything is far beyond anything whatfor people should put some money on the table.

Thanks !
Besides the I.E.8 then I am also using an "old" FireFox 3.06 and that one still show the same problem for me....
Perhaps it is my O.S. (Win XP SP3+) - but on the other hand , I just tried with the "Opera , v 11.01" browser and that browser displays the page perfectly.... A bit strange....
(OK - so perhaps I am a bit strange, I mean considering that I have 3 different internet browsers installed at the same time ;-) )
