giadrosich: I'm really looking for a good play experience with FMV games. I really love the Journeyman Project series, especially 3, and I'd like to find another series that sort of captures that sense of exploration and puzzle solving in it.
Any suggestions?
Rakuru: I haven't played them, but I've heard that
the Tex Murphy adventure games use FMV sequences well and the classic series bundle is on sale for another 6 hours. The
7th Guest and
11th Hour were apparently some of the first games to use CDs and FMV... according to the GOG store page, 7th Guest "caused CD-ROM drives’ sales to grow by 300%". Both of those games have been going on flash sale occasionally for $1.49 each.
Not so much an adventure game, but I just picked up the
Wing Commander series (also currently a bundle) which is supposed to have great writing/story, high-quality FMV for the time, and a persistent story across games, despite likely aged graphics/gameplay. Looking forward to that one.
Ah, thanks, I think I'll pick up the Wing Commander bundle, that seems to be pretty good and I've heard of that series before! Appreciate the name drops, I'll be sure to check some of these out!
