It's a nice thought but why should GOG lose money on a sale because people own the game on disc? I just don't see something like this being feasible.

dreamer84: I spotted some great games on gog.com which I do already own but I'd actually prefer to have on my account instead of having to search the respective discs again. It should technically be possible to check if one already owns a game, e.g. by verifying the installation data checksums, so what about offering a discount on these games so one can link them to ones gog account? Just something like a 1$ activation fee maybe?
Okay, your discount will be granted. However, you will have to pay the cost for the GOG.com team to visit you (including their payment for the free days) so they can see if you really have all the CDs. Also you must offer a proof of purchase for each to make sure they are not rented.
