Oh, this was the worst:
I bought the original black XBox, mostly in order to turn it into a glorified DVD/media player. I think I've used it only a few times for that purpose, I watched e.g. my Robocop DVD collection with it. I just found that it was far too loud, cumbersome and just silly as even a basic DVD player. The XBox gamepad is a bad multimedia remote controller, and for some reason the XBox didn't seem to send aspect ratio signal correctly either, ie. my TV would not automatically set a 16:9 aspect ratio for DVD movies.
But at least I have some games for it, right? In reality I've only tried to play Halo 2 on it, but I found it near unplayable with the gamepad, so in the end I got and played the PC version of Halo 2 instead. It found the PC version much nicer to play, so that's the version I played to the finish.
So I guess my XBox (and XBox Halo 2) purchases were quite silly. I still have the unit though.
