Watching someone else play games - unless it's a highly rated Let's Play or something - always seemed to me like watching amateur pr0n; you have no guarantee it's not going to be bad, and while it might kind of get the point across, I'd much rather be doing it myself.
That basically sums up my feelings for Youtube. However, I love streaming and watching streams on Twitch (and prefer the channels with fewer visitors), almost entirely due to the ability to interact with the caster.
For me, Twitch is basically the same thing as getting a group of friends together to play some games and have a general good time goofing around. The thing is, nobody around here is into the kind of games that I'm into, so I pop on to Twitch, boot up a game, and let my long-distance friends know I'm streaming. I get to experience my joys of the past while meeting some interesting new folks.
