It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I have been having a really weird problem with my computer for some time now.
I am unable to play any full screen games while I have Firefox in the background OR in the taskbar, when I try to click the games back up, they jump back down in the taskbar.
Anyone having the same problem?

Are you using firefox 4 beta ? (the latest beta which uses hardware acceleration) or maybe being on a page with flash or silverlight ?

Some times I have this problem. Rarely though. Make sure you have the latest graphic's drivers.

The odd thing is that I didn't have this problem before. I was able to play games while I had Firefox in the background several months ago.

I just updated my graphic cards' drivers and that seems to have done the trick. :)
Edit:
Scratch that, the problem is still there. :(

Yes! I've been about to post it here several times, but haven't gotten around to it. I've suspected firefox as well, but I've seen the problem even when FF wasn't running, so I don't think that's it.
On the other hand, the problem is not consistent. Sometimes it doesn't occur, and I have not been able to find any link between what is running in the background and whether the problem occurs or not.

Well you could try to minimize Firefox to the systray with an add-on like MinimizeToTray and see if the issue is still there...
https://addons.mozilla.org/it/firefox/addon/12581/
The solution is simple.
Get a usb HDD and copy all valuables over.
Format.
Reinstall.
Problem solved!
Sounds like behavior you would see if a program was taking focus from the games. I would disable any extensions or plug-ins in Firefox and try playing then. A poorly written plug-in may be updating itself in a way that pulls focus causing an open program to minimize. Worth checking out.
I am running the latest version of Firefox and haven't noticed this problem BTW . . . =)
you could probably get away with blaming Flash here it's usually to blame for something :P

Great idea there. Lets reformat our drive everytime we have a minor inconvenience. D'oh!
Assuming you're on win7 or vista, try killing the 3D GUI when you run your game and see if that helps - right click on exe and in compatibility select disable visual themes and disable desktop composition.
Now that flash is hardware accelerated, you can run into an issue where too many 3D type apps are trying to run at once (i.e. windows gui, game, flash in browser, etc.) I noticed this issue too and have been setting my games to run with basic non-accelerated windows gui when I game. This fixed it for me.

I tried what you suggested about disabling desktop composition and it worked.
