Andanzas: Well, I am failry new to click and point adventures, a genre I am starting to explore right now, so I don't know if my opinion is very valid. So far I really like the world, very unique, and the characters, especially Kate Walker, the main character, who is very charismatic. But sometimes the plot is too convoluted (not sure if that's a given in this genre) and the puzzles can be disappointing. Still, it's worth checking it out, if only for the superb artistic direction and that decadent world. I am having fun with it.
GoJays2025: I found Syberia to be rich in atmosphere and like you said, artistic direction, but did feel kind of empty and was average to subpar in other areas. I'd definitely suggest some of LucasArts adventures or Wadjet Eye games or Broken Sword if you want to venture further into the adventure genre. i havent played them yet, but will be playing them sometime after X-mas...
i really enjoyed Still Life...
i havent played Still Life 1 & 2 but ive played part 3, on my xbox....
im looking forward to replaying the games in sequence on my PC...
its by the same developers as Syberia...
you play a detective trying to solve a murder that is linked to murders that happened in the the 1920s. so the story moves from present to past....
i also suggest Indigo Prophecy...
excellent point & click game....
also know as Fahrenheit....
same guys that made Heavy Rain for PS3 & are working on Beyond: Two Souls..
they also did Omikron, which ive always wanted to play but never had the chance to...
