I do have to say, people need to stop blaming EA for this one. LucasArts and BioWare entered into the contract for this game long before BioWare was EAten (it's actually been in development for almost two years now). Not to mention, even if this was conceived under the EA banner, LucasArts is such a control freak, they would not have tolerated any of EA's interference. If you must blame anyone, stick to the actual culprits, LucasArts and BioWare.

I am with you, I don't understand why anyone would be blaming EA, but I do know that in general EA sucks a donkey's you-know-what and in general it isn't bad to stay away from their name (i get their games used mostly, console titles or sims titles. :D)
I am also concerned about the "story driven" thing. Guild Wars had more or less similar thing and every time i wanted to watch a cutscene, other players just skipped it...
Can't say i've ever done the mmo thing, but i have a lot of faith in bioware. as a dev team they are second to none.
I look forward to see whats coming :D
Although I'm disappointed they went the MMO route. I actually have a bit of hope left for a KotOR III since the MMO is supposed to be set 350 years after the events of KotOR. As long as they don't do much to fill in that 350 years, there's a little hope!

I would prefer KotOR 3 than a MMORPG...
Who cares, I want Diablo III not another silly MMOCRPG or whatever :-P

Very little hope. Look at what happened with Blizzard after WoW was a success... they dropped any plans to make Warcraft 4. Sure they say they are open to making one someday, if some other studio shows interest in doing it...maybe. However, as long as WoW continues to rake in the cash, they won't seriously consider dedicating any resources to anything Warcraft related but WoW. If the same were to happen with TOR, it could be years before we get KotOR 3, if ever. If TOR fails, then the odds get even lower, since LucasArts is considering TOR the next step in the franchise. If TOR fails, then the franchise has failed and we will probably never get KotOR 3.

With SWTOR being a MMO, I wonder if EA will also decide, "Even though it's a MMO (and most use only your online account as the DRM), let's be EA and still keep them Securom Internet Edition install limits involved anyways..." :P

EA is involved in the game in name only, they don't have that kind of control over what is and isn't in the game. LucasArts retains publisher control over it, though I suppose it is entirely possible (but unlikely) that EA could convince them to include some kind of additional DRM.
I'm 100% sure i will not buy this game. Why next useless MMO? World changes and everyone wants MMO's? I don't think so. It's just marketing. Creating preferences and telling kids they love it.
Good old days are gone. And what we get now are action games with rpg elements (i.e. Mass Effect), FPS on consoles (sic!) and MMO's. Am i to old to participate in this madness? That's why sites like GOG become blessing.
I don't play MMORPGs so this game doesn't excite me in the least. The single-player game experience is so much more attractive to me.
