Titanium: Hmm, what's this? A wakizashi through my chest? It looks like I've been... ninja'd [dun dun duuun]

OldFatGuy: LOL, I don't know exactly why, maybe because I posted how I was ninja'd at least twice, but I read this and starting laughing and then couldn't stop... kept picturing someone with a WTF look on their face looking down at this thing sticking out of their chest and just can't. stop. laughing.

Oh boy, time for another cup of coffee I think. Thanks for laughs though.
Oh thanks, now you passed the laughing on to me you two! :)
You just found out ? :P It was also on a pretty steep sale on release.

Which I passed on, for whatever reason. Oh yeah, there was this huuuuuuuuuuge backlog I have.
Anyway, I hope there'll be a good sale again, at some point.

kojocel: Excuse me, but

WHAT THE FLYING FUCK?

Since when S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series has been on GOG? O.O
I've been waiting for it to land here since like Jurassic!

I wonder if it's EVER been on sale? Anyone could answer me this please?

Thank you.

zeffyr: This post could have been written without unnecessary swearing, couldn't it?
No as it was quite neccesary!
Question that never got sufficiently answered on the dedicated board:

I own a mac. I also don't know how to use WINE, so I use Winebottler: it takes the .exe and packages it into a self-contained wrapper so it can be used like a normal app. The thing is the installer for STALKER is in multiple parts. Can I still make it work with winebottler? If not, how would I run it with normal WINE?
You can get the Steam version of the second one in this bundle right now:

If it helps!
(I don't MEAN to keep promoting Steam, honest I don't...)

Thank you for the info.

Thing is I already have S.T.A.L.K.E.R. collection on Steam, but having all of them DRM-Free is been something I have been awaiting for ages! Heavens know how much hate I got towards DRM thing since with S.T.A.L.K.E.R.'s SecuRom...

I think it's $10 off if you grab all 3 at once. Otherwise maybe wait for a sale if you have them on Steam already.
Just remember to ally with the Duty faction in the first game and not the other guys. Duty has the best sniper rifle.
Man I've got to play that game again. Only this time I'll buy some alcohol for those terrifying underground laboratories...
Posts like this makes me believe it would be worth GOG looking into some system to help connect gamers with the games they like or want. (I had the idea for the tags system before Steam took it out of my greedy hands.) So much stuff gets lost in the catalog it can feel ridiculous.

Perhaps GOG would benefit from a single (or 2-3 pages) Wikipedia-type page, text/links only (or with much smaller catalog images), with every game in their catalog, which could sorted alphabetically or through genre. (I'm guessing the Wiki has something similar but too few people know about that.) Of course the inclusion of the search box would be important, or a prominent recommendation would be to use "control+f" to search through the page to see if the game they want is there.

Hopefully some positive changes related to this happen in the coming months.
