I usually don't like creating new threads but I wasn't able to find anything on this problem.
Well, there was(is) the amazing Stalker sale on gamersgate.com so I thought I would give that service a try (first time I purchase something there) and get all Stalkers.
After downloading Shadow of Chernobyl and installing it I saw the version number is 1.0000.
I couldn't find any patch on the site and the "Digital Distribution" patch (1.0005) released by GSC Gameworld doesn't work either...
Anyone with Stalker on gamersgate could help me out? Well I could try to install the worldwide patch but then I would need a nocd patch to get it to work, which is kinda stupid.

Mentalepsy: I was pretty sure I read somewhere that GG doesn't host a patch if the retail patch will work, but I don't know where - it may have been an email from support. Honestly I'm a bit surprised as well; if there's a separate DD patch available, there's usually a reason for it, so it's weird that the DD patch doesn't work in this case.

Actually patches from other DD platform do not generally work with other DD platform games due to each having their own DRM or pathcing solution. Retail patches don't work either for most of them as Retail tend to come with their own DRM and/or disk check. GG is bit different from most that it has no DRM solution of it's own so it's games are closes to retail games and usually only difference between GG and Retail patch is that disk check is removed (they may have put a check to make sure GG patch can't be used with any other version as well). DRM has been patched out from first two version of stalker so retail patches will obviously work but there's no patches for CoP in GG. Is there no patches for CoP out yet?

pops117: Yep, that was my plan. I already played through Stalker once and then halfway through with Complete 1.4.3 (owned it retail limited edition and Steam). Would you recommend the realistic weapons add-on?
I'm not too fond of very realistic ballistics and such, and from the comments it seems that it's a way to "screw around" in the game if you get what I mean.

Stalker already includes ballistics modeling, with stats for muzzle velocity and that sort of thing; the realistic weapons mod is mostly an upgrade to damage and accuracy. The weapons in Stalker always felt like pellet guns to me, especially the early guns, with which hitting the target at all can be a problem. The mod gives them more punch (which, of course, benefits your enemies as well).

No, I don't think so.

Ok, you convinced me :)

The US and English language versions are already patched up to version 1.6.02, on par with the earlier Eastern European release. The word from the developers is that apparently this is the final version of the game, unless any seriously major bugs are discovered.
I'm currently playing the Steam version of COP and have yet to encounter a single bug.

I've been following stalker LP's and CoP does seem most stable and bug free release yet. What I found strange is how buggy Clear Sky seem even after latest patch. LP'er had to patch and restart and dropped the game eventually entirely due to quests constantly clitching on him, especially at carage or what ever that area was (the one with bandit base, a huge pile of bugs at and on it self).
Speaking of patches, GoG should have these available as well. I kinda got Divine Divinity a day ago and for the heck of it I checked the patch version vs the most recent one available - and yes, the GoG version was not patched up to the latest version. In rare cases it's perhaps worse off to patch a game, but I for one tend to do it just for the heck of it - fixes are fixes after all. It'd thus be nice to see patches (if there are any) available as extras on this site.
Bumping this thread just to say that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Clear Sky from Gamersgate comes fully patched and without DRM :)

That was the case with GTA San Andreas... after that whole "Hot Coffee" debacle they removed the mod ability from the game in v2.0 without any substantial fixes.

I'm not sure whether any games have gotten patches after their release here, but in most cases where there has been a problem with the game or installer GOG has uploaded a new installer (requiring us to download the complete game again). This is, frankly, the simplest solution, albeit not the most limited-bandwidth friendly.

Confirmed. I even scanned the installation files with PROTECTiON iD just to be sure and it doesn't have any trace of TAGES left :D
The only DRM it has a simple serial key used to play multiplayer online through GameSpy like SoC.
