I'm not sure if this conglomeration of action and sneaking, its like a pizza topped with Peanut Butter and Beef - its a creepy sensation which keeps you thinking you need more, just to remind yourself you should probably not do it again.
I'm going to reserve all my judgement for the release, but this sure does remind me of the TV series 24. I mean Sam Fisher is kind of acting like Jack Bower with a little bit of Prince of Persia thrown in. Its an Orange and Bacon sandwich which needs to be properly digested.
I've also not had lunch yet.
Peanut butter & beef could work, just add some chili & onions and you've got the makings of a good satay beef
Just finished Splinter Cell 1 for the first time, good game. Now onto Pandora, although it sucks that it does not render shadows correctly (on anything from GF 6 up).I could force it via ini file in SC1, but it seems that will not work here.Any ideas?

I looked and I looked to no avail. The only person I found who was able to solve it had downloaded the oldest possible drivers for their nVidia card. Maybe that will work for you.
When trying to get my games to work, I generally draw the line at musical drivers unless it's something I really want to play. It's just a hassle. It probably won't do my ATI card any good in this case anyway, though.

This looks excellent. I didn't like the giant projected INFILTRATE THE MANSION (and so on), that crossed over into silliness, but the rest was awesome.
I am not a fan of the series, however. I can imagine that people who are might be irritated by what they see here.

Mentalepsy: My experiences with the demo aside, would you all recommend Splinter Cell to a major Thief fan? The first and third games are available for $5 each on D2D this week; I might pick them up just because they're so cheap.

Aliasalpha: For that price, definitely. They're not open world style things but its very rare that you're forced into a fight and even when you are you can use gadgets to even the odds and get some smooth kills/disables. One of the biggest challenges in the game is getting through the levels with minimal enemies killed or disabled (I think there's an achievement for it in the 360 version of Double Agent). Its just such a shame that the 360/PC version of double agent was so crap compared to the original xbox version.

Tried out the demos of the other two games. SC1 wouldn't render shadows at first, but tweaking the ini file fixed it; no issues with lighting that I noticed. SC3 gave me the first and second blue screens of death I've seen in years, but turning off one of the more arcane graphics settings seemed to fix the problem.
I'm still a little leery of the technical side of these games, but I went ahead and bought them both (though I completely forgot until now that SC1 at least is supposedly coming to Gog - should have held off on that one, I guess).
Double Agent is also $5, but I take it you don't recommend it. The internet tells me that the PC version is in pretty bad shape.

Well the PC & 360 version of DA were different games to the PS2 and Xbox versions and I think the ones for the weaker consoles were actually the better game. Not to say that the former was BAD, I just didn't enjoy it as much as I did the latter. The xbox one just had a better linear dramatic feel, the 360/pc felt like it was chopping & changing just as the narrative was getting interesting.
I can't speak for the technical state of the PC version of DA, the only thing I know for sure is that it requires pixel shader 3 or it's a literal slideshow in places.

Consensus seems to be that it's seriously buggy, but it might be okay after patching. I do have a shader 3 card, at least I'm pretty sure. I'm getting the demo to see how it runs.
Thanks for the input. I do wish SC2 didn't look like this, but, oh well.
