Living abroad now and unable to access my collection of games back in Finland, and no idea if I even have this gem saved.. But started thinking. This is one of the best Space Hulk based games there are (well, from the two there are). I could say it's very decent Warhammer 40k game as well.
There's currently over 170 people who have voted for this one to be added to the site so thought I would make my request a bit more vocal and more noticeable as well.
I'm not much of a writer.. but I can count a few reasons this might be a good add, and could prolly generate some sales as well.
1. It's technically abandoware. I've searched online where to buy it for the last few days and havent found any place that sells it new. Most of the used were being sold for about 30-50 GBP.
2. There's no pirate/abandoware versions out, not any worth checking out atleast. So hell, for 4-9 usd/gbp sold here, I doubt many would even bother pirating it.
3. Space Hulk 3rd edition just got out, and sold out within a week or two. There's plenty of irrate fans who didnt get the chance for the new version of the boardgame, and could be satisfied getting to play this game instead atleast.
4. The graphics are still pretty damn decent considering the age of the game. I did play it a few years ago last time, and was surprised at it. And yea. It's possible to get it to work on XP atleast. (Not sure on Vista.. but there's always a way!)
Well.. that's about it for me now. If anyone has different opinions feel free to add 'em here, or if anyone actually knows some place I could buy this for a decent price.. :)
P.P.S The original Space Hulk would be fun too! Make a pack, with both 'em! :)

1. It's not technically abandonware. It's a licensed title. Which means it will always be pretty damn far from abandonware unless clearly stated as being so.
3. Again, it's a licensed title. The rights to which aren't being licensed to the same company any more. So THQ would have to buy the rights to the game to sell it here.

Anything licenced is never Abandonware. You can also bet that anyone distributing something as such which is licenced from GWI will soon be hit with a visit from their lawyers. Also I believe Vengeance was published by EA.

Technically there is no legal status of "abandon ware". It's just something people say to make themselves feel better about pirating something. (Granted I pirate games that aren't for sale as well, but I don't fool myself into thinking it's legal because I can't find a copy at my local best buy)

perhaps someone should just contact the rights holders games workshop and contact/bully or blackmail them into putting title on gog

The developers for Space Hulk were from Key Game, a company that no longer exists... and the publisher was Electronic Arts. I would guess that EA owns the rights to Space Hulk now, although I don't know if they know it.

Because, for many reasons, GW wouldn't be able to do that. Blackmailed or not.
If they're aware of that fact then they're probably also aware they can do nothing with the title anyway.

That's probably because of the ceaseless swarms of people violating their IP.

True but they have no problem in squashing all of them. The problem is the fans want a lot more Warhammer but GW jealously guard their IP from almost everyone, so you get fan projects that in turn GW see as a threat and proceed to squash. It's an endless circle.

On the bright side, they seemed to have secured an electronic gaming future for their IP with THQ. They're definitely producing more 40K games than we used to see.

True this is the most open they have been in decades. I just hope THQ don't screw it up somehow and GW go back into their shells. Plus they really do need to diversify as they cant keep making the massive profits they have with the dwindling economy and their continually rising prices.

Between Relic, EA and GW there's a whole lot of lawyers who needs to be paid, as well as people to port & QA it (otherwise GW says no regardless).
But if you just want to play Space Hulk on your PC, there's actually a far better alternative. Swedish Teardown created a true-to-the-board-game Space Hulk PC/MAC game a while back (they even used bits of the art from the EA game, with permission). They hadn't anticipated the Relic-GW rights minefield, so they had to withdraw it again, but!!
It was re-branded, updated and released as Alien Assault just the other day, it still uses the board game rules and there's already a fan-made Space Hulk conversion kit out for it, complete with graphics, voice overs. campaigns & everything. It's great fun. And free too. And it has an editor. And it's super easy to mod.

After the success of Dawn of War, I doubt they'd abandon the market, even if they don't renew their contract with THQ.
