Pathetic, thats the BEST they can do with a south park licence? It could make a brilliant adventure game, an obscene monkey island as it were (knowing trey & matt, the monkeys would be constantly masturbating) but no, they have to do the lamest cheapest shit, slap a popular name on & some sound bytes in and call it a day.

The previous attempt was a first-person shooter (seriously).
Many developers don't care about putting the extra effort in to make good use of a license or use a genre that makes more sense because consumers are going to lap it up in large quantities anyway (see almost every movie tie-in game ever). Sure, a game that is actually good or original will sell better, but it will also cost a lot more time and money to make.

Like with practically every licence worthy of a good game, give it to Telltale. South Park would make an absolutely perfect candidate for episodic gaming, maximum variety would mean it'd take forever to get stale and wouldn't always have to be the main 4 characters doing the same basic stuff over & over.

At least, the game is made with the same old "crappy" 2D and animation we see in the show. Always though that South Park in a 3D game was a big mistake.
And yes, South Park Studios have some nice free flash games. Major Boobage is real fun, if you have your cat ready for it of course.

If a trailer has to make me want to buy a game, then this one has failed.

WHY is there no South Park adventure game?! SP already has:
a recognizable art style
an established humor/attitude
a huge cast of well-defined characters
familiar locations
established plotlines
hell they could even pull half of the design team from the show for voices, art and writing
all they need to do is program the damn thing and receive money
