This guy waltzed up to the PAX East booth for the game Breach, waited until the guy managing the laptop went to the bathroom, and began downloading the game's source code. He was caught doing it, and after admitting to it began to ran. He was caught and arrested, but was a no-show for his arraignment this morning. Joystiq claims they know his Gamertag and that he is currently playing Modern Warfare 2.
What an asshole. You don't steal period, but you surely don't steal right in the developer's booth. And developers take source code theft much more seriously than they do piracy. This little twerp should be thrown behind bars for a long, long time.
EDIT: Not only that, but apparently he tried to bribe the arresting officer to let him go, and even offered to rat out his hacker friends. What an asshole. Shows what kind of men get their jollies hacking.

Ummmm....one question...why the HELL would they bring the source code to a CONVENTION?? Isn't that something you kind of keep back at the company offices, locked away tighter than Fort Knox?

I'm pretty sure it wasn't actually source code that he was stealing, more likely an early build of the game that they were showing off at PAX.

I'm really bothered by how they wrote "May had been seeing hanging..." Do they not edit their content before they publish it? I only read Kotaku when people here link to it so I don't really know if their staff knows how to read and write or not.

It's a blog. Readers in the comment section are always telling them about their grammar mistakes. Despite the fact that some of them have journalism degrees, they are very sloppy.

Well if it's a blog couldn't they just go back and fix the mistakes after people point them out? I would be ashamed if my work was bad and I didn't bother to fix it.

The cops know his gamertag. They don't know where he is, but they know what he's doing (playing MW2).

Now, if only MW2 had had actual server support, instead of the crappy random-client-is-server gimmick, that might actually have enabled them to track him down.

Ha, maybe. It's the console version though. Dedicated servers are an unrealistic expectation.
