I searched a bit for a thread discussing this, but it's quite hard to actually find anything in the chaos of this board. :)
I was wondering if there are any plans to add a feature to sort the game shelf (ascending / descending) by e.g.
- name
- date bought
- date of original release
- genre (sub-sorted by name)
The sorting could be done by checkboxes for each sorting order which - when checked - always automatically sort the games and - after being unchecked - keep the last sorted order, but allow free moving by the user again.
Also, a way to drag and drop a game BETWEEN two others would be very nice (thus moving all following games one place to the right / down). At the moment it's all very tedious if you want to put a newly bought game somewhere at the top of the shelf. My GOG collection isn't even THAT big yet, but I already start to feel the pain of the current system. I would guess all the guys with a lot more games would also appreciate more comfortable ways to order the titles. :)
+1 for that. I think that would be a great idea.
I'm not sure, GOG.com is all about nostalgia and old school so it's sort of nice to take care of the virtual shelf the same way we did with our real "old" shelf :)
Where we actually had to do it by HAND without any fluffy algorithm or such. That is you could have hired your personal hoo... er secretary that arranges your collection to your liking :P
On that Note I'm still hoping we get this shelf as option some day.
