So, price has gone to $4.99, but it's still not out yet. Rumors are that it will be Wednesday or Thursday this week.

Roman5: Have you Played Generations?

That does not have Any camera problems that some of the early 3D games have

Backe: I did like the demo so I might pick that game up sometime. I want to like Sonic since I like the characters, I guess its just hard when I grew up with Mario games :)
Sonic had much better level design than Mario did, unfortunately, Sega more or less let Sonic rot rather than growing the series. Mario in the long run has been relevant way beyond the relatively short period that Sonic was.

Personally, I do have a soft spot for Sonic, at least up until Sonic & Knuckles.

I think that because of the type of game Sonic is, that it was always destined to fail in 3D. Sonic should be 2D only. When I watch 3D Sonic, it's like your just on rails holding on for the ride. While it's pure speed in 2D also, you still feel in control of your character and can appreciate the level design. I don't get that sense in 3D.

On the other side he have Mario, a platformer that translates beautifully into 3D because it's not dependant on running at 300MPH all the time.

Monsta, where are you hearing thse rumours about a release this week?

Friends who have been right abuot such things in the past. I guess we'll just have to wait and see :)
so I'm kinda confused on what's going on here exactly.
I'm pretty sure about 3 days ago gamersgate had the pre-order available, with a timer that said 19 hours left. Then the next day it didn't say pre-order anymore, and the timer was gone. So I bought it. But the game still isn't available for download, and the game page says pre-order again. What was the timer for then?
Is gamersgate ( or anybody involved with the game) even going to say when the game is supposed to come out?

CaptainGyro: snip
Welcome to the world of uncertain Steamworks releases. Ultimately, the game will release when Valve release it and not a moment sooner. Any dates provided by GamersGate will almost certainly be place holder dates. So unless SEGA or (preferably) Valve post a specific release date, don't expect any date listed to be the actual release date.

I think the timer was for the "discount", except that was nonsense because the end price was cheaper than it said it was going to be when it calculated the "discount". I haven't seen it saying anything other than pre order :/
yeah now that i think about it, it might have said pre-order the whole time. I guess I assumed it was gone because the pre-order price changed from $3.74 to $4.99

It was still 25% off $4.99 so I don't mind.

Taxman ha sbeen posting and taking bugfixes/suggestions on the sonic retro forums. There's speculation the game is being delayed until a patch is released for the other platforms.

Looks cool.

I've been trying to get into the classic Sonic games since I have them on the PSP, so as soon as I'm done with Sonic 2 I'll check this game out.
I would buy it if it was released on gog

I'd buy it again on GOG.

Stupid steamworks. Are they worried about piracy? If they are, they should stop releasing iOS ports then.

So, I'm now officially confused. I saw this on the Sega website, which clearly says:
"Sonic CD™
available on
PlayStation®3 system - Out Now
PC - Out Now
iPod touch - Out Now
iPhone - Out Now
Mobile - Out Now
Xbox LIVE®Arcade - Out Now
iPad - Out Now"

But it isn't : /

I also found this.

SEGA's been the #1 troll on the internet this year. Their site has said out for PC since the start of the year.
