Anyone got a cure for having a song stuck in your head? I've had In Flames' "Satellites & Astronauts" stuck there for days now. The only time it seems to go away is when I have other songs from Clayman stuck in there but they never last long. There's something addictive about that riff...
You just need something to distract it. Another song (especially one that get people humming) works. 80's music and theme tunes.
I've just watched the rather good X-files episode "The Post-Modern Prometheus", and I am stuck with Cher. I don't even like Cher, but apparently, I'm walking on Memphis.
Find another song to replace it. I did read in a Reader's Digest (don't ask me why I was reading Reader's Digest) is to listen to that song, like with speakers and stuff to clear it out, because you brain is wanting to to listen to the song again.

I think there's some truth to that actually, though my evidence is anecdotal at best.
The numerous times something is on loop can be stopped by hitting Youtube and getting satisfaction. After this, a few humour clips or cute kittens, and the song is dead.

Trust me mate, if that worked it'd have happened by now, I think even my stereo is getting sick of the song.
Oh well, I'll have to go into my cheesy 80s playlist & whack it on shuffle. If Horse With No Name doesn't work it might be time for the big guns, Dave Dobbyn & The Herbs' Slice Of Heaven...

I'm sure your brain will just love some ELO.
Oddly enough it's close at the moment. I've got REO Speedwagon's "I Can't Fight This Feeling Anymore", it's so cheesy I feel like someone has shot me with a cannonball made of brie...

Have you tried the smurfs song yet?

Thankfully I don't have it, I think it'd drive me smurfin' crazy.

Well. I thought only mentioning that abommination would result in replacing one song with the smurfs song, that usually works with my friends.
Here, this'll chase any other song out of your head. Whether that's an improvement is of course not guaranteed ;-)
rickrolls usually work for me.
I recommend this
As of right now, I have the White Stripes rendition of "Your Southern Can is Mine" which is a good song so it can stay right where it is.
