Actually, to persuade everybody of all that stuff, Steam had to do something entirely different: They've had to come up with a featureset that would convenience their customers. Only when you gain influence and trust you can start persuading. As of now, Steam does have that featureset. GOG doesn't.

Also, what you're suggesting sounds incredibly distracting, as far as UI goes anyway.

Wouldn't it be cool to have some GOGinators? Or GOGocops. Or whatever.
