Yehat: The AI does seem rather weak - when my first match was ended by the demo's turn limit I was already way ahead of all my foes and happily farming weak neighbours for easy points.
However, lots of the mechanics are geared towards making interesting multiplayer matches - like the special ability to choose another player at the start of the match, and if that player wins, you win instead. Of course there's a rare event card that reveals and removes this ability if the target player has it.
PBEM matches between GOG forumites would be spectacular.
How long did it take you to get a hold of the mechanics? The reason I'm asking is because it all seems to be a bit overwhelming to me so far.
Tried to finish a turn got a pop-up that there is some kind of message I need to respond to, couldnt find the message. XD
Some multiplayer would be awesome, since its not traffic heavy but I'll have to run a few games first...may be pull out a few hairs from my head in frustration before that. Sigh.

Almak: Solium Infernum is a turn based strategy game that offers you a chance to vie for the Infernal Throne of Hell.

Elwin: What about DRM?

The developer answered this at his forum.
"I'm using a new system that I created in cooperation with a defense contractor/think tank that I can't name. It consists of a DNA sample that is sent in to a laboratory after you purchase the game... you have to wait about a week before you can activate your game but that's not a big deal....the real tough part that I'm going to have in selling this is the USB device that you have to buy to read a small blood sample that you have to give up each time you want to play. I'm also worried about lawsuits from people if they bleed themselves dry, anemia that type of thing."
Also, plain serial code activation (no online check needed).

Just one match, actually. The manual is very helpful, although I sure wish they'd added a contents page. Just explore all menus and click on every shiny button and you'll get it quickly. This guy has promised to write a tutorial as he did with Armageddon Empires: http://dubiousquality.blogspot.com/2009/11/solium-infernium-coverage-notes.html

I also loved the way they announced the release date: "I am planning at this point to have Solium Infernum available for a demo and purchase on Wednesday. I can’t tell you exactly when on Wednesday at this point but it looks like I should have the manual done and all the files including the demo uploaded by then…as well as the website updated that day."
Compare to those MW2 midnight launch parties. Ah, if all developers would be like this. What a beautiful world...
