It's on sale on GreenManGaming for a little more off than it was on sale on Steam for and I'm thinking of grabbing it.

I keep hearing about the microtransactions but are they intrusive? Does not paying for the microtransactions make you less able to play the game? If no to both of those questions, I can probably deal.

Also, is it a good game to sit down with for a while or more of a time waster? Hard to tell from screenshots.

You could probably get it cheaper from some mobile service (Apple's app store/Andriod market), even before sale prices occur. Either way, like a lot of mobile and facebook games, there are credits you use to buy in-game items or use certain other features like bypassing the cooldown required for upgrading items (if I remember right). These credits can be earned in-game or bought with real money.

As for longevity, it gets repetitive from an ability standpoint (considering each class only has 4 abilities), but there's still a lot of old-school, Dragon-Quest-like depth to combat. It's a bit of both time-waster and investment, honestly.

I love it on my phone, I don't think I'd have the patience to play it on my computer.
