Filben: Just switch between the currencies and compare the price. e.g. PoE Champion Edition: $62.49 or €49.59.
The latter are roughly 51 CHF. The first are roughly 60 CHF.
I just saw this and even if the post was made two weeks ago I have to throw in, that this is absolutely incorrect. I don't know what you used to calculate the euro to CHF but €49.49 are also roughly 60CHF. So the price is basically the same at the moment and it was never as low as 51 CHF. And in my experience most of the time it is cheaper to buy in $ than in € with my swiss credit card.

Axonteer: Seems you guys (siulebuo, Filben) arent really getting the point i tried to crefully explain above.

...

My best guess is that you guys didnt read the conversation that happend above, and since im too lazy to write a summary about the conversation every time i post, you just assumed we are still talking about gog ;)
Hmmm, no. I readed all conversation before post. And I re-read it by now. Maybe it is because of my bad english, but I do not see that you are talking of stores "in general". I think you talk about GOG almost all the time (except a moment you are talking about Steam).
Anyway, if you are talking of 1:1 (dollar - euro) conversion, yes, you are right. It is a great price increase (but it is also for us, countries with euro, not only for non-euro countries).
GOG does not have 1:1 exchangerate so this is not the case.
We in Romania are even more fucked, but hey, before the online era we couldn't even legally buy most games, even today you see 1-2 major titles in online shops at horrendous prices (50-60€ regardless of age). But hey it's great that Russians make 2x more money and pay 1/3 for games... Gog at least tries to keep things in a relative balance so that I don't feel as much screwed over as I feel @ steam or lately @gmg (ever since it changed to freaking £, which we don't use either in my country).

I thought I mentioned it. I used www.xe.com to calculate.

Axonteer: and another store gone where i can pay in US$ ... :-(
So its basically a price increase by 25% for me, unless gog does the correction for the exchangerate.
(Im swiss, we have CHF not Euro, €'s are expensive for us.)
Just thank god you are Not An Aussie!

Axonteer: So in the end, my average "buy force" (dunno how to translate "Kaufkraft" ^^ ) is the same as for a German or a US dude living a roughly similar lifestyle.
I think "purchasing power" would be how you'd translate Kaufkraft, context-wise :)

Axonteer: Normaly (reddit cough cough) you would get shat upon hard, but here people actualy answer the question :)
Such a f***n N00b....

(that was sarcasm by the way... i never talk that way... but now i'm sure i'll be seen as a troll)

Axonteer: During the conversation here we switched over from talking about GOG to talking about the general affair of currency exchange rates (like Sony does, 300$ in the US for a console, and 300€ in europe).
I remember there was this big debate on the new consoles and how it was something like $1000 for a PS4 in South America; Due to import taxes that the country uses for... whatever reason...

Axonteer: I might get a pony slaystation 4 later ...............
I am still ROTFLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want to get one of those as well!!!!!!!!!!!!

;)

I don´t know how it is in Switzerland, but you might be able to buy in the US, and just pay the taxes and come out a bit cheaper though.........It is just a real hassle with the taxes and similar........
I heard that how hard brazil get screw'd over with the ps4, something like 1.5-2k$ it was i thought.
(Heard about it on the epic battle axe (rip) - axe factor podcast).

At least from my pov i can fully understand if a US based product has to charge a bit more in certain countries. Thats just down due to taxes and maybe shipping etc.
E.g. in Switzerland we have a "SUISA" tax that applies to all products that can store AND play copyright protected material - its basically paying a piracy fine before you pirate something because you "theoretically could" ... anyway...

But just 1:1 conversions is basically saying: Europe hahhaahahah fuck you screwed twats, time to buy a new golden rolex with your money!!!

Also always a good laugh: A game in a store from EA costs 60$, then you go to Origin aaaaand.. still 60$.

As for the exchange rate debate, a friend of mine started to use a VPN for steam/gmg to get better regional pricing.
Im happy i dont have to go trough that hastle/crap here on gog.
In regards to the Import stuff answers: Buying a Slaystation from the US, it might be cheaper to buy it there, but shipping 1 console would certainly not make it a worthwhile exercise. The only reasonable thing there i could see would be to ask a friend when he goes to the US during his vacation and bring me a ps4.

But... *looks at his 68 point long list of games he wants to play, and that steam list/gog list with 150 unplayed games*... i guess im still occupied for a long while before i even could fit in to play something on that pony :D

Brb... editing top post with a TLDR-Conclusion for the lazy peeps xD
Do not worry, Romania pays on Steam, Origin or Uplay the UK/Germany prices. So, GOG going on euro, oh well, things do not change overdramatically for us. We'll wait for serious discounting (75-90%), as usual. I love how certain EU countries from the second tier/third tier are treated like they are rich countries. Fortunately, being in one those countries, you learn to get your games at the right times or in bundles and NEVER pay full price. So, yeah, we'll give our money later, rather than sooner.
