First of all whoever invented that action/reward system ought to be kicked in the nuts. For the fortunate about you who have no idea what I'm talking about; Uplay basically gives you points for completing achievements, which you can spend on DLC. And I don't mean actual DLC like an expansion pack or preorder content, no no, stuf they basically cut from the game and make you jump through hoops to get it.

All I did was pick up a game during a steam sale, and not double check it's DRM and now I got this shit with it,, and the best part about it is that I can't even unlock that crap because neither the achievemnts nor the rewards actually work for me, and the support has been completely useless so far.

I feel like someone dangled a stick with a carrot in front of me, and the stick caught fire and the carrot fell on the ground.
Uplay is stupid.
That sucks. Smoke inhalation can really ruin your day.

True, I mean I played AC2, got most of the actions (one didn't go through) but there were no rewards I wanted. Then I started AC:B, got the rewards with the actions from AC2, and played the game getting the actions. Now I play AC:R and I'm using the actions from AC:B to get the rewards for AC:R
The bonus they give are fully skippable perks (5 more knives? so what, you either have enough with 10 or you need much more than 15), and the ability to play one game and get the rewards for another is nice.
On the other hand, removing them completely wouldn't make me miss them.
Thanks for the heads up, I'll try to avoid Uplay and warn people around me. We really don't need 'achievements' having an impact on whatever.

How do we call this progeny of "DLC" and "Achievement" ? Such an abomination must be named, despite seeming more evil than Sauron.

"digital rights encouragement"
Not always. ;)
if anything happens you must call them and beg to help... better DRM free - you buy once you got it - that's all

Personally these are the only types of achievements that I like. I have no use at all for achievements that don't reward me with something I can play around with ingame since I don't care about stupid online ePeen measuring contests. I'd like to see more achievements doing this.

Not that I like achievements at all, I'd much rather the entire thing went away, but if they must be there I'd much prefer them to actually give me something.

The stick was lit, and his carrot fell down. I'd say that wasn't an OK moment.
