xaemar: I played to Dragon Age: Origins to the end because it was supposed to be the new Baldur's Gate 2 but the only good parts were the music and the gameplay in my opinion. The story and characters were so generic, uninspiring, "cliché" and boring imho. And the graphics too were generic.
And now I finished The Witcher 2 and I felt that the only good parts were the graphics and the music, with the gameplay being alright (it's nice to have some difficulty) and the story and characters being also very weak.
I am the only one who is so much dissatisfied with the story of recent RPGs? Or did I miss the new RPGs with the best stories? Do you have any recommendations?
My personal opinion about that is nowadays the only modern rpgs that can offer a deep experience are MMOs, into specific WOW or RIFT for fantasy and EVE as space sim.
The fact is im an old gamer and i find too the modern rpgs lacking aspects like freedom and deeper dialoges, more interaction and decent menus anyway lately i find also the old crpg gems lacking in aspects i feel necessary.
After 6 years of MMO play i can tell I really miss some aspects only present in mmos, in primis the living economy, the depth in professions and character builds, but not less the cooperation and the challenge of real ppl, only mentioning the fact you can customize everything with tons of addons to build up your perfect UI.
So besdie the fact ofc nearly all the mmos around have a monthly fee and they require to have a lot of time to play, you may try them if you never did.
