I really noticed how good the graphics were in it

I mean seriously, this game looks better than 80% of the Console games that are coming out this year, what the hell?

Have you had something sort of similar with any other game? Noticed how well it looks after many years?
I would go as far as saying old FMV CG cutscenes that PC and console games had in the late 1990s and early 2000s looked better then graphics now:

Resident Evil 3

and Starcraft Brood War

Hmm, did you play Space Marine? I thought it looked pretty gorgeous for running on a 5+ year old piece of hardware.
Sacrifice and Giants: Citizen Kabuto are two games which immediately come to mind as being still visually exceptional, even now.

Yeah, that looks very nice. The animations too, it seems like recent games have had really terrible animations for some reason. Even the animations in that RE3 FMV looked better than stuff you see recently.

I think the issue is that many modern games focus on the graphical technologies being used, as opposed to using them well. That DMC4 video uses a lot of techniques in a way that makes the environments moody, a big focus on atmosphere, which is what is ultimately missing from a lot of games.

This is a weird one, but when I was first playing Sonic Unleashed, the look of the game really surprised me. There are a lot of tricks at work, but it seemed to blow most of the things I've played on this generation of consoles away.
