Now rather than explain the story again (like I've already done 10 times already to a fair number of people) I'm going to copy and paste the text from a thread I made on a website called Voice Acting Club where I notified some people that I would be delayed in being able to get some work done for them. And to quiet the "pics or it didn't happen" people due to the April Fools Day thing, I'll post a picture of me in my cast on my leg.
Here are the relevent parts from the thread I made on VAC, its not the whole thing just the parts where I talk about what happened and some of the difficulties that are coming with it:
"Basically what happened is while a I was on a date with someone last night at a skating rink, something a bit unfortunate happened. I was making a bit of a turn while on my rollerskates, where, in short, I lost my balance a bit, and came down on my left leg at a horrible angle. Seeing as how the rollerskates I was using are the stiffer 4 wheeled high top kind, this wasn't good. I had already fallen down several times that night but my hands are generally pretty nimble to where I was able to break the fall and catch myself so to speak.
I guess to specify, I didn't fall down on my leg, more so I fell down and took a fall, and during all of that my leg (more specifically, my foot) twisted at a horrible angle causing the injury. From what the doctors told me last night (and from the X-Rays I saw) there are two bones broken in my lower left leg, one fracture each.
Needless to say, it was quite a scene considering I was on a date and a good number of my date's friends were there. And that's not all. It also just so happened to fall (lol, fall) on April Fools Day since it was last night, so I guess this year the jokes on me. And I had bought some raffle tickets there before I got hurt, and guess what, I won a prize after getting hurt (a Hu Hot gift card). It made for a nice case of comic relief at the skating rink when I shouted "I'm a winner!". lol
So I guess to get down to business, my left leg is in a cast right now and will probably be in a cast for several weeks at the least and I'm walking on crutches. From what I know surgery may, but probably won't be required since the bone alignment the doctors said may be good enough to let the injury heal on its own.
Because my leg is in a cast (and because I live by myself in an apartment) recording anything for a while will prove to be difficult, or to better word it, challenging, since it would be especially hard to record in crutches without help. Technically I'd still be able to record using my headset mic I use for things like skype (since I can record with that sitting down), but its a big loss in quality compared to my AKG 120 and I can't use my pop filter and stuff with the headset. I have neighbors in my apartment building that will be able to help me get around since I'm great friends with them and such, but they won't be around to help me 24/7 for things like recording with my voice acting mic along with other refinements."
Here is a pic of me with a cast thing on my leg. And yep, I understand if I look totally weird with that smile on my face.
