Does the higher up that gave the intel the the operations team get the axe?
Or do we go to the next guy that verified the intel as accurate?
Do we focus on the person that generated the intel be it an NSA wiretap or a CI?
Do we prosecute the guy that loaded the bombs onto the plane? I mean, he had one of the biggest roles in the entire operation. If not for him, the bomb wouldnt have been dropped.
You are naive. Your idea would pretty much do nothing in terms of accountability, it would just paralyze our intelligence community and put more lives in danger because no one wants to approve anything that might end up having collateral damage.
Armchair generals need to pack up and go on over if they think they can manage the war better.
And again, i'm not naive. Yes, some collateral damage can occur in war, but the amount that's happened so far in Iraq is nothing short of criminal in my eyes. As I said before this isn't a one time thing or a rare occurance...if it were we wouldn't be having this conversation.

I'm talking about the ones caused by "friendly fire accidents", naturally. Even without all the rest caused by other things the number is still higher.

I can't believe I'm actually agreeing with you, but this is exactly the reason why I refuse to celebrate the death of Bin Laden. Many are claiming that his death is retribution for 9/11, but 9/11 was in fact retribution for the thousands of Iraqi innocents killed by the US Army. Retribution is wrong; both sides are as bad as each other.

1. I haven't checked in awhile so I don't remember the exact count.....but alot of news sources at the time said(and I checked and verified) that the totals for friendly fire civilian kills was higher than the number who died on 9/11.

The number of civilian deaths in Iraq is between 100,622 and 109,919, a direct consequence of the occupation.
In total 3,497 people died in the attacks on 11 September 2001, and that includes the terrorists.

So the boogieman of the first decade of the 21st century is dead. At this point.... I don't think his death will mean more than catharsis to some people.

Wait, you're applying the theory that he's acting childish in his argumentations, and yet when he then stoops to where you want him to be, you continue to disapprove? You indirectly asked him to act like that in any case.
Besides, Guile's Theme Goes With Everything (lukipela's argumentation). Find the music track yourself :p
