I'll have to think about that.

Meanwhile, wikipedia's article on Ludwig Boltzmann has a section which does a good job explaining the second law of thermodynamics as a statistical law. And I personally find that the statistical explanation helps understanding it (though it may not help everyone).

Also, understanding the statistical explanation leads to cool concepts, like Boltzmann brains.
