Thanks for the giveaway, ExiL0n! Please count me in.

The first game that pops to mind is Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers. It's one of the best adventure games ever made (some would say the best), and it's a hallmark of the old days of point-and-click VGA games from the early 90s. Awesome story, great characters, interesting and varied puzzles...it was a revelation for me. I think that regardless of a person's gameplay preferences, the story is powerful enough to grip them and even convert a person who isn't interested in adventure games. I'd say the entire GKtrilogy is a must-own: each game is brilliant!
Count me in. Everyone should play Fallout, 1,2,3 and New Vegas!
Thanks for your generosity. +1 to you.

Count me in, please. The game I think everyone should have? This is a tough one, so I'll think of the first game that comes to my mind...Deus Ex. Yeah, I'm a newcomer to that game, and I also think it's great. If you don't have this game yet and you don't think you need it, you're making exactly the same mistake that I made before finally deciding to buy it. It's an amazing experience that you should not miss.

EDIT: Other games I will mention now that I should have mentioned in the first place:

Heroes of Might and Magic 3, SimCity 2000, Caesar 3, The Incredible Machine, Jetpack, Battle for Wesnoth, Papers Please, etc.....

Count me also in and thanks for the giveaway.

Everybody should give Caesar 3 at least a try. Thats really a very addicting game and one of the best city builders of all time. Zeus-Poseidon and Pharaoh+Cleopatra are similiar games and said to be even better than Caesar 3 but i am yet to play them.
I'm In.

People have such varied tastes in games that it becomes almost impossible to pick something that will appeal to everyone. So, the best thing I can think of is Tetris.
Everyone's tastes vary but the Sam & Max series are great with a ton of tongue-in-cheek humor! If you love puzzles, anything from the Myst series are must plays. Of course, The Longest Journey and Dreamfall are classics too....
Thank you very much for the giveaway! Count me in please.

A game that everyone should play at least once is the unfortunately underrated Scrapland, such a fun game if you ask me!
Thanks I'm in. Baldur's Gate is a must
Thank you I'm in.
I always fall back on the Zelda franchise, generally well done games. Also good soundtracks for the series, up there with Final Fantasy franchise soundtracks.
That is pretty awesome.

I think everyone should have StarCraft. In my opinion it fundamentally changed the way RTS was played. This time the different playing options were actually different! Not just 1 or 2 different units and different skins.

I'm in! Thanks!
+1 I'm in and I would say either of the phantasmagoria games especially if you're any sort of horror fan.

About the game, it depends on your preferences. But more or less these are my selection:

· For a city management game, Pharaoh would be a good candidate.
· For a strategy game, Civilization II would be a good choice. If you prefer a real time strategy game, either Warcraft III or Age of Empires II.
· For a FPS, it's hard to choose. But I recommend the first Unreal, System Shock 2 or Deus Ex as the ones that everyone should have.
· For a RPG, well, Planescape: Torment, Baldur's Gate II or Fallout. There are other very good RPGs, but those would be the ones everyone should have.
· For an adventure game, Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers.
· Thief or Thief 2.

Those are the ones everyone should have, considering the type of genre you may like. There are genres (like racing or simulation games) I don't like or play, so I can't comment on those.
I'm in.
Master of Magic is one of the best games I have ever played, and everyone should at least give it a shot. Especially if you like strategy games.
Thanks and +1!
Hello, I'm in, thank you.
The One Game(series): Gothic is the second best RPG-game for me, Gothic 2 is the best. :)
I'm in, thank you!

Planescape: Torment probably. Best characters, plot and writing I've seen in a game to date.
