Since yesterday, when I try entering the site with cookies disabled I'm only shown some kind of blueish looking animation. At first I thought the site was down, but when the problem persisted today it occurred to me that it might have something to do with my browsers privacy settings, which it does: When I allow cookies everything works fine.

Anyone else with that problem? I'd like to keep the cookies away from me if possible. Any chance it's related to the System Shock site entry animation?

If the blueish looking animation is this one, then yes, this is for the System Shock announcement. The only thing that should be unavailable will be the front page, with all other pages being accessible as before. As to why cookies are required, I've no idea, but then again I'm not really sure how they did the animation either, other than the fact they used stylesheets.

Yes, exactly that one. Sounds like this is only a temporary thing then.

The frontpage animation is not affected in any way by cookies, but it uses javascript, which - judging by your description - is not being executed.

Still, if you're certain that your browser has JS enabled when your cookie blocking settings are on and you aren't using any script-blocking addons, please report browser type, version and OS so we can investigate further.

Had the exact same problem, I think. Check your combatibility mode. Next time your on that page click the little thingy at the top that looks like a ripped page. No promises but it worked for me and someone else who had this problem yesterday.

Nope, my javascript settings don't seem to affect this. I do block anything but gog.com there too, but even when I temporarily allow everything I'm still stuck on the little animation. Allowing cookies solves this instantly even with most javascripts disabled.

Browser: Firefox 18.0.2
OS: Win 7
I like cookies myself. :D
